I'm looking at Crack Swarm as I've enjoyed my first few games with it, exploring different versions.
Something interesting which came out of the Hoth/Roanoke squads in the Top-8 is that we started seeing more stripped down Interceptors than just fully kitted out Soontir, with one list even featuring the much-maligned Alpha Squadron Pilot!
I think I can see a role for him in my team:
Howlrunner (Crack Shot)
Black Squadron Pilot (Crack Shot)
Black Squadron Pilot (Crack Shot)
Black Squadron Pilot (Crack Shot)
Black Squadron Pilot (Crack Shot)
Alpha Squadron Pilot (Autothrusters)
So vs my other two competing builds (2x TIE/fo, or Mauler & Scourge) the change as I see it is:
1) 1 less Crack Shot, but 1 more permanent red dice
2) bumping potential from PS1 Interceptor
3) Autothrusters tactical option for some matches
4) 1pt Initiative bid
I think I can fit the Interceptor into my formation if I need to, sit him on a back corner and he should be able to move first without blocking anybody, unless I 1 turn the wrong direction.
Is this just rubbish and I should be making do without the Autothrusters?
