I love this bad tempered little droid. With my dear pals I am playing some OTG plays, but Dengar plus R5 P8 are very popular at my LGS. Fortunately, much more than triple U boote. Perhaps as good as the Rebelion's unique droids, he is 100% scum and punky.

Dengar+ Title + R5 P8 + Zuckuss are, in my opinion, the best toys from wave 8. Something new to fly, very agressive, and charismatic. I do not know if this is competitive or not, do not care. Very popular and as I say before in another thread, job well done.

I love R5-P8. The other day I killed Soontir Fel with him. He died with his stealth device intact.

I admit that I got one of these this past Xmas and I love it. I guess I'm too lazy to even do my own "pew pew" noises?

Personally, I want to try Dengar with Stay On Target, R4 Agromech, and K4 Security Droid Outlaw Tech. So, let's say he picks a 2 speed maneuver, but it will cause him to bump or maybe be in a bad spot. He can turn it into the S-loop in either direction! Yes, he's stressed, but he gets a free Focus. He can spend that Focus to get a TL next. Makes him pretty shifty.

What else do people fly Dengar with in their list? I'm just curious. I've seen people use Guri on here.

Thanks for clarifying that! I was super confused until you said Outlaw Tech.

In any case, I love that idea. I love outfitting Dengar with PTL and K4 for arc-dodging style, but this would be a fun way to potentially do the same thing. Clearing the stress next turn will make him somewhat predictable.

Yeah, it might make him predictable the next turn, but he's got a decent amount of green moves and can always Barrel Roll. Or, just do a white move and keep the stress for a turn.

I recently played with this on Tel vs a Dengar. Thanks to a couple of fortunate rounds Dengar was clinging to two hull. He literally passed up half a dozen Dengar w/ Punishing One shots for fear of my R5-P8. One of the best and best value upgrades IMO. Auto include on a Scout.

I played against this combo again today. Dengar's droid did 4 damage to my ships. That's pretty great. I am not sold on Dengar.

You will not believe how mad I was when I got the crit from my pain droid.

So, I got in two games last night with the Degnar mission that also includes the droid. It took me a little bit to realize who it was that I needed to save the droid shot for each round. I think you need to be smart about who you fire back at. I managed to kill an X-wing with him. It was close and came down to us facing off. I fired at him and did a bunch of damage, but he was at 1 hull. He fired at me and only got one hit, that I evaded. Pain bot shot back and killed him! I won the game.

Can I just say that I'm happy to read you talking about something being just FUN to fly in X-wing? When I first noticed you, Warpman, you were pretty hard core tournament type. Most of your posts were about winning or optimal builds or....all the things that kind of suck the fun out of X-wing for me. It makes me happy that you just talk about something being FUN to fly. I had him on Manaroo for a tournament. I think my favorite moment was when my opponent shot range 3 through an asteroid with the HWK primary because who knows, it might hit. Of course it doesn't. R5-P8 like a **** sniper dealt a damage. Wasn't anything game changing, but he was super mad at himself for even taking the shot. Every time it comes up as a hit I have to let loose a hearty "mwa ha ha ha!!!" in the most evil way possible. I feel like this droid needs a long curled mustache.

I have to admit that I love calling this guy "Pain Bot". I keep thinking of the one in Teen Titans (thanks to my kids watching that show).
