I only play good/grey guys. I know that this will never happen, but if the Ebon Hawk came out... I would literally never fly another ship. ESPECIALLY if HK-47 crew came out. He is 100% a bad guy , but man... being able to yell "TAKE THAT MEATBAG" at everyone would just be awesome.

Back when i was a kid there was a massive push from the more open minded and concerned elite in my town to keep violent games out of the reach of children.

we would try to get a game of chess happening but seeing the opposing armies crushing each other over and over was too much for most people. Many people would just pass out and fall out of their chair witnessing the horrors of soldiers surrounding and destroying clergy and queen.

We also had a preacher in town that banned dancing altogether. He knew it would lead to promiscuous behavior and all the young women would end up pregnant or drunk.

I would never play this space trek laser game you people are so excited about. I just keep an eye on this forum to see how bad it has gotten for the youth in this society.

In fact, good guy and bad guy are concepts that need to be chucked out of the window.

that's what I like best about the 40k lore... Who's the good guys?

The Space Marines? - You mean the guys who are fanatically loyal to a corpse and will destroy a whole planet if they have too many mutations or don't agree with the dead guy's government.

Imperial Guard? - See space marines, only they might get shot themselves if they don't agree with their officers.

Eldar? - Space elves who will kill you or maybe not, depends on their mood I guess. Nearly got wiped out due to ego, and still think they should play parents to the other races.

Dark Eldar? - even worse space elves who literally live off the pain of others.

Tau? - Claim to be interested only in the greater good, which apparently includes enslaving or brainwashing whole planets in the name of that greater good.

Chaos? - Want to convert the whole galaxy into hell... Yeah 'nuff said.

Orks? - Killn' is fun!!

Necrons - Killing is what they're programed to do.

Tyranids - Want to consume the whole galaxy then move on to the next.

I know that's a simplic list but covers the basics pretty well.

From an outside perspective, they do seem to be the only ones not taking the whole thing quite so seriously.

Where I live I am in the minority in that I don't hunt. I have several times, but I just don't find it enjoyable and I don't frown upon people who do hunt. Around here deer are a real nuisance and cause hundreds of auto accidents each year. The populations are much too high and should be reduced as they have no natural predators any more with the wolves, bears, and mountain lions gone. I used to be a pretty good shot when I semi-regularly shot clay pigeons.

About the 2nd Amendment, I think I am fairly middle-of-the-road. I can understand the reason why you don't want average citizens owning military grade weapons including, but not limited to, fully automatic guns, RPGs, .50 caliber weapons, missile launchers, tanks, fighter jets, etc... I am fine with semi-automatic rifles, shotguns (non-sawed off), and handguns so long as convicted criminals are not allowed to possess them. I am fine with waiting periods and background checks. I think background checks should be mandatory. Maybe you have to get a special drivers licence that allows you to own them. If you do own them you need to store them responsibly like in a safe. But what if someone breaks into my house? Get out of the house and call the cops. Everyone has a cell phone.

I am a firm believer in the slogan "Guns don't kill people. People kill people. Guns just make it easier." Banning guns won't eliminate murder or robbery. People have been killing each other for thousands of years over stupid reasons. I see no reason why this would stop if nobody had a gun.

I don't think me playing Axis and Allies as a kid turned me into a psychopathic despot bent on world domination. Well... Not yet...

One of the jobs I had many years ago had one firm rule. No discussions on politics, religion or red headed women. This thread gives weight to the wisdom of that rule. Or at least two of the three restrictions. Even level headed individuals can go off the deep end when these two topics are breached. Maybe we should end this thread and go back to playing the game and just agree to disagree.
