mines and bombs

By teeg123456, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Had a discussion the other day about when they go away. I was under the impression that bombs or mines that were not exploded were cleared from board during end phase but my friend says the stay in play till they are exploded?

Thanks again for the help

There's no general rule that says bomb tokens get cleared at any particular time, end of turn or otherwise, so the only time they're removed is when their own rules say they are. All the bomb tokens currently in the game are removed when they detonate. They're all "bomb tokens", by the way. "Mine" is not a term that's defined in the game.

There's no reason there couldn't be a future bomb token that can detonate without being removed, but at this point there aren't any that remove at any time other than detonation.

Bombs are not removed until they detonate.

For some kinds of bombs, like Seismic Charges, this occurs at a particular point during the turn where the bomb is dropped. Others don't detonate until a ship or its maneuver template overlaps the token, and those are not removed until the trigger is met.

Basically, your friend is right. ;)

Great thanks for the info

Much appreciated
