Many people loves Epic. Others not. 300 Epic needs space and time. I want to tell you about another way to play x wing, very simple. Quite often we play x wing while watching soccer on the TV. A match is 110 mins aprox, so one x wing play per each match.

4 x 3, six rocks. 200 pts and you MUST field a Raider or Tantine ( no Scum, sorry). No more limitations. You can play 3 x 3 if needed. A simple game mode to play with that ship you bought to own a Palpa or Golden Lingot.

It is fast enought to LGS Plays. And quite often it is finished in 100-110 minutes.

Yeah, anything that is beyond the 100 pts and not epic is generally called "Cinematic". It's my favorite style. It's basically "play whatever you want". All sorts of good stuff.

200 pts is pretty nice with an Epic ship as you get a few escorts, but the real action is on the big ships. Our game store has these nice 4x4 table toppers that are painted up. Normally, we put on the 3x3 mats and have the extra for cards, but if we are playing a big game, we do the whole thing. It's nice to have options.

My buddy recently got me into XWing and we are going to try out Epic this weekend, really looking forward to it. Once we try that out though we may give this a try (other buddy we are trying to hook is a Soccer fan) thanks for the idea!

Or, if you prefer a real sport (like baseball), play a 100 point game and just play during the commercial breaks. Gives you your own "death clock," need to finish your activations or attacks before the commercials end. Intentionally slow play needs to buy beer/pizza.

Edit: extra points for calling your pilots the name of players on your team. I have referred to Wedge/Luke/Biggs as Halladay/Lee/Hamels in the past. And it fits, great on paper but they will never win you a tournament!

Ahhhh...baseball. When I was a young student, overweight but with my hair still intact a entusiastic young from a distant and exotic place ( Denver, perhaps, not 100% sure ) tell us about baseball. I got lost after the Strike 1,2,3 rule.

He said soccer was boring. Heretic. But female beach volley was OK to both of us, so no more discusion.

I won't ever get into epic because of how long it takes and the fact that my wife and friends will all make fun of me for buying ships so big. Buuuuuuut, I love the idea of playing X-Wing while watching a sport. I can totally do that to get more games in.
