Tie/v1 and PTL

By USCGrad90, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just wondering if timing is Ok on this.

Say I boost into range 3 and then PTL to target lock, get my free evade action, and then take a stress.

This happened in a casual game and I reasoned it was a nested action, so my opponent allowed it.

Correct call?

Yes, that is legal.

Pretty textbook case of nesting. The step-by-step would look like this:

- Boost

- PtL triggers, use it to perform a Target Lock action.

- TIE/v1 triggers, granting a free Evade action.

- PtL assigns stress and finishes resolving.

Yep no issue at all.

As a bonus, if you dialed up a green maneuver you get to shed that stress.

Nevermind, brainfart...

Umm... only if you have advanced sensors. Otherwise, the stress clearing green maneuver is over already.

Figuring out how to get TIE/v1 and Advanced Sensors on the same ship is left as an exercise for the reader.

A sharpie, the tie x/1 title, a new or gullible opponent, a lack of scruples, and a turkey baster.

Face palm.

I guess I had another series of action shenanigans in my brain.....

Sorry, nevermind lol,,,,,
