Hello, I'm relatively new to the Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/FaD system and I had a concept for a character, but only a hazy notion of how I'd like to go about it. I feel like I could use some help with it. The character isn't for any planned game, but it's one I'd like to have to bring to a table if I join a game.

The concept is a droid that is programmed to take pictures and record footage of the Rebellion/New Republic in order to fuel propaganda. Its news outlet works similar to the Daily Bugle from Spider-man comics, and, as one might expect, its employer (Space J Jonah Jameson if you will) thinks any Jedi or Force Users are a menace to the galaxy and will spin ridiculous headlines to try and print libel against them.

Going into this, there are a few things I do know that I can do to start off with the concept:

- The Propogandist spec in the Desperate Allies sourcebook for Diplomats is built on generating Press

- Possibly multi-classing into another Diplomat like Agitator or Ambassador spec so that I can use my Presence skill in a way to have some use in combat with Inspiring or Scathing, being more of a face character

- Setting the droid's starting gear to have visual and audio recording/playback devices and cameras, as well as a means of contacting his news team to break stories or give live reports

- Focusing characteristics towards Presence, but perhaps add some Brawn and Agility for self defense.

-Take the Bad Press Talent, which is practically perfect for the character

Is there anything I'm missing or getting wrong or perhaps some ideas on specific talents or skills I'd find useful?

I don't really have any advice on the build, but I LOVE the concept.

Propagandist is solid. For the 2nd talent tree you could go Driver, to help get you in a good position. Figurehead would be good if you wanted the "Face" route (positive spin on that tree would be great). Strategist or Analyst synergize well if you want to sit back and provide tactical support for the team (while of course snapping beautiful shots). Advocate is in class and would work well, especially if you had your own blog on the "darkholonet" to put your pics in context. Agitator if you want to be rough and tumble. Infiltrator would give you some melee skills and help get to places you're not supposed to be. For that matter Thief would be good too, but I will let someone else go through the Edge careers.

Comes down to what you want. Personally I like the Propagandist + Strategist/Analyst combo. Or Thief/Infiltrator.

As far as gear, I don't actually have my books on me, but the Suns or Fortune book has a cam droid. Get a few of those to fly around a battlefield taking shots.. then in post editing put the blurry faces on anyone who's identity needs protecting. If you take one of the computer based classes, Analyst is the first that jumps to mind, you could take some gear to protect yours comms and break into enemy communications. Not only did you get pictures of the corrupt imperial kicking a puppy, you've got an audio track!

If you don't do the straight Propagandist route then I would start with Spy Scout and take Propagandist as a second specialisation.

We have a droid Propogandist/Agitator/Advocate and that combination seems to work well.

The Droid should fly like the Eyebots in Fallout.
