Purchasing Advice Needed

By JorshRod, in Star Wars: Armada

I play rebs usually and have a lot of ships and lists I can run. I do not have many imperial ships and would like to expand my options at the 400 point level a little more. I consider myself a casual player, but I do occasionally participate in local tournaments.

I currently own the following imperial ships:

1 ISD

1 VSD

1 GSD

1 Imperial Fighters

1 Rogues and Villians

It seems like dual ISDs is a popular list, but I have been thinking about running 1 ISD with 2 VSD escorts as well, and having more ships in my list usually makes me happy, just cause who doesn't love lots of minis out there flying around.

I'm also considering buying a 2nd GSD or a Raider, but I don't think I'd use the raider much in my Imperial lists, they don't seem very useful on their own.

Thanks for reading and your suggestions.

I'd recommend getting a Raider and a GSD, if for no other reason than the cards for the Raider (admiral ozzel, montferrat, quad laser turrets,

You say you have 1 Vic; did you get it in the blister or with the base game? Because you get different cards with the Vic blister set, and that is also worth getting.

Basically, I would say anyone into the game should get <the base game> + at least 1 of each blister.

The VSD is from the core set, I just realized how many cards I'm missing from the VSD expansion set, so I'll probably get that.

I would also recommend a Raider. It definitely has it's uses, and I find it a lot of fun to play. A simple Raider I with Ordinance Experts makes a great escort for your ISD. Between it's two black rerollable dice and the ISD's 2 blue or 1 blue 1 black, Rebel fighters will think twice about getting too close. Plus, as stated, it has some solid cards as well. The point is, though it can be difficult to use, it is also very rewarding when played well.

After that, another VSD isn't a bad investment and I would expand your fighter wing as well by at least 1 more Imperial Fighters pack.
