Yet another "Rate this List" post

By Snardo, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Last weekend I played a rebel list with Keyan Farlander, Jake Farrell and Poe. I flew against Vader and a Decimator. I managed to get the Deci off the table, but it cost me Jake and Keyan. With just Poe left, I could not get Vader in arc and he eventually took me out. I thought the general idea of my list was pretty good, but wanted to see what y'all could do with a tweeked version of what I used last weekend. One confession: I'm pretty new and still wrapping my brain around some of the basic strategies like when to bump and when not to. Jake got taken out by the ecimator by ramming because I was too slow to just get him the heck out of dodge.

Here's my list as it stands now:

Keyan with PTL, Adv Sensors, Engine Upgrade

Poe with Predator and R2-D2

Green Sqdn Pilot w/ Wired, Chardaan Refit, ATs, Test Pilot and Outmaneuver

I probably need to move some points from the A-wing over to Poe, but that's where it stands right now. Ideas?

Perhaps as helpful (or moreso) than fixing my list would be any tips on how to use the list. Basic strategy is something I'm still coming to tdrms with so any pointers there would also be welcome. Thanks!

Did Keyan get taken out first? I think with the Engine upgrade he is too tempting a target behind one agility. You've got ten points of upgrades on him and I would gun for that in a heartbeat.

Freeing up those points could get you an autothrusters on Poe and the A-wing. It would make the other two ships more defensive though, so Keyan is still my first and squishiest target.

I think this could work with a lot of practice, so don't get discouraged if you get blown up a lot while figuring out your strategy. Poe is pretty straight forward, but the other two are going to take time to work out the best ways to use them.

One other thing, Wired on an A-Wing is begging for Push the Limit as its second EPT, which I believe costs the same as Outmaneuver. Just something to think about or try to see how you like it.

Actually Jake fell first, but only because I wasn't thinking straight. My opponent had the pilot for the Decimator that causes damage when there's a touch. Instead of getting hit once and then bugging out with Jake, I tried to manuever him around, but he kept getting blocked. As a result, I think Jake lost almost all his health to getting rammed turn after turn. In hind sight, I should have done a 5 straight to get him well away from the decimator after the first touch. I think Keyan fell the following turn but helped get the decimator off the board before he went.

Keyan's ability is awesome, and there are cheaper, better options than PTL.

Keyan + Stay on Target + Adv Sensors + B/E2 + Jan Ors = 37pts

SoT beats Engine Upgrade. Can move to any position, even Kturn, after everyone else has moved. Adv Sensor Focus lets Jan turn it to evade token for a little defense. Leaves enough for Autothrusters on Poe.

Keyan + Rage + Adv Sensors + B/E2 + Jan Ors = 36pts

Adv Sensor Rage, Jan turns the focus from Rage into Evade. Do a green to remove one stress. Keyan ability removes second stress.

I dont like wired on the Awing. Maybe replace with something like Crack shot. If you want the Awing to pack a punch:

Green Sq + Prockets + Autothrusters + Crack Shot + Adaptability (can lower PS for better blocker, or higher PS if facing triple Uboats) = 25pts
