Am the only one arc-dodging with Dengar? Sounds like you guys are jousting with him.
Proper wingman for Dengar?
I've been running a 'slim' Dengar with a loaded IG-88 B. Seems to do the trick as Iggy B is public enemy number one and most people go after him first. I've been thinking about switching Iggy to C for a bit more survivability, though, but not sure I want to give up the firepower.

Jousting in general is doing it wrong IMO. You really dont want to be be focus fired. Isolating one ship and then going head to head though is a smart play. I have been using the pilot ability as a control element and bonus rather than seeking to trigger it constantly.
Get a chance to head to head Poe on his own at range 1 though? I'm all over that.
I've dabbled with Dengar/Fett builds, myself. Still haven't settled on one I like, but I find the awkward asymmetry pleasing, I like how it fits the fluff, and with about half a list to each dude, these guys are beasts. You can have trouble against high burst damage (like the oft-forewarned Triple Scouts, of course), but they're pretty solid otherwise.
I'm curious about Dengar builds and don't really see another thread about him out there. Looking at most people, it seems PTL is what most put on him, especially with Engine Upgrade. Yes, he will dodge arcs and all that, but.....isn't there something else that can work?
Could Stay On Target work for Dengar? With his asymmetrical dial, it might be a good thing. Do the left S-loop but, oh, he blocks you. So, you switch it to the red one right and just take the stress. It just seems it might be a different way to go with him.
I'm also tempted to put Recon Specialist on Dengar. It's good for offense and defense, but also good because he might be firing twice in a turn. I don't know....just seems good to me.
Or, if you are going with Stay On Target, what about Outlaw Tech? Gives you that Focus every time.
There's lots of builds that can work well, but his statline and innate barrel roll send to scream to play him as a slightly less punchier (though the double-tap can help there), PS9 dash.
It's not quite the same, but folks like to try...
Less punchy than Dash? I'd say that's debatable myself.
No missed shots from a donut hole especially against aces.
Lots of fully modified shots from PtL / K4 combo.
Still leaves one action to reposition at PS9.. With engine it's pretty easy to hit range one of any sub 9 or when you have initiative.. where you have 4 dies without flipping crits to hits.
Add in Dengars ability and you have a pretty close damage match up.
Only thing Dengar really gives up to Dash in their Super builds is the ability to ignore obstacles but Dengar has more greens so while I'd give Dash the manouverability edge, Dengar going at 9 isn't a million miles away due to that Ps advantage.
In a straight 1vs1 I'd fancy Dengar to win most of the time.
I've tried the 56-pt Dengar (title, PTL, EU, K4, unhinged astromech) with the 44pt IG-88B (Mangler, AT, FCS and adaptability).
Not too bad, but you need to fly your IG carefully. If you don't concentrate fire, the list is pretty much moot.
An alternative interesting choice is to fly Bossk (YV666) with the following: (Crackshot, 4-Lom, Zuckuss, Bobba Fett, and Mangler).
This way, you are certain to snipe the aces. Soontir with Stealth Device, Palp Shuttle and Autothrusters can't stop it either.

A Bossk build without K4? What is this heresy?
But seriously have you gotten a chance to fly your Bossk? I've been running him with Vi, K4, merc co-pilot, 4-lom and Feedback and he's done some serious work. Not 100% sold on the Merc but it's been a nice way to trigger his ability. He has the usual YV problem of low turning but I usually end up feeding him to whatever punchiness they've got worked up, leaving Dengar to mop up the pieces.
IG-88B could be fun, though you feel the PS loss pretty bad in the right matchup. I always feel like the IGs are a bit more arc-dodgy as well and I'd rather not have two giant arc dodgers in the same list (no bait, no tank) since it takes the Palp Aces problem (play perfect or else!) and puts more points behind it.
Thoughts?
