Stealth Snipers - Whisper TAP List

By CaptainAl, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So i had this idea and i am considering it for regionals.

whisper

VI

Intel Agent

FCS
ACD

inquisitor

PTL

Title

AT

Omega leader

Juke

Comms Relay

Stealth Device

the idea is simple. you have three hard to kill ships that can arc dodge and can deal out a lot of dice. Ik a lot of you will suggest a palp shuttle and i would run one if a i had a pal patine, but i can't afford one. i might be able to barrow one for regionals. what would be better palp shuttle or omega leader? also should i drop stealth device for a better crew on the phantom?

I have flown a lot of similar lists and they are both fun and effective. If flown well, I should say. Imperial aces is one of the most challenging and least forgiving lists in X-Wing.

I would drop Stealth device for Agent Kallus and a 2 point initiative bid.

They don't have the Imperial Raider. So, Agent Callus might be off the table if they can't borrow him. Agreed, they probably should drop or swap some stuff to get their points at 98/99 for better initiative choice.

What has Agent Kallus got to do with the Raider?

Absolutely nothing. My bad, forgot he came in the Gozanti set.

yeah unfortunately i don't have the gozanti or raider. what about rebel captive or maybe tactician?

Rebel captive is pretty solid. Intel Agent is fine though. It'll help set up blocks with your other two ships against PS9+ aces.

I think its fine as is. Although I would prefer proton rockets on Inquisitor over stealth device on Omega Leader...

will be play testing sometime this week. do you have any advice on how to beat Triple jumpmasters?

:)

There are a few lists that can actually joust with them, but not many.

High PS, high damage output, high dodginess, great attack rolls, crappy evade rolls by your opponent.

Pick a few of the above and go with them.

Maybe slip in a Borg sphere... ;)

Engage out of arc whenever possible, otherwise go for Range 1.

Play defensively. Take evades on Whisper and rely on FCS for your offensive output.

If you opt for Intel Agent, you can try blocking with decloaks. It's really risky if it's not a 1v1 situation though.

Also, take the biggest rocks and try to plop them somewhere central-ish. Keep your ships spread out so opponent kind of has to pick one to go after (this makes getting behind easier with your other ships). But don't engage until he has commited to going after someone, and ideally, the engagement will be close to the middle of the table so the rocks will limit some of his moves throughout the match...
