What did you fly

By Evil Doctor T, in X-Wing

Hi all

Going to avoid the current elephant in the room and ask what did you fly this week/weekend

Me and 3 friends had a crossover game of xwing and armada that we are play testing with about 1200 points of armada and 700 points of xwing per side - it was epic

Followed this up with several rounds of standard xwing trying to find a list I like for the spring kits

Thinking I'm going to settle on something like the below

Bossk and Bobba (99)

Boba Fett (50) - Firespray-31

Veteran Instincts (1), Ion Bombs (2), Tactician (2), Glitterstim (2), Engine Upgrade (4)

Bossk (49) - YV-666

Veteran Instincts (1), "Mangler" Cannon (4), Zuckuss (1), 4-LOM (1), K4 Security Droid (3), Engine Upgrade (4)

It's so much fun to forward four and then have the option to boost, managed to catch my opponent off guard with it a few times and the YV is beautiful

So, what did you play?

Was it epic? Did you pull of a cool move? Or did you just do something stupid ?

I flew dual VCX against triple imperial aces. VCX are brutal.

I'm hearing good things about the dual list

Me and my buddy have the one between us and every time he has played it I've just focused the hell out of it before it could do much

We played the mission from the Ghost. It was pretty fun. Flew it once straight as, but the Ghost died too easily. Swapped out a few of the upgrades to make more sense, but kept it all crew from the actual kit. It was pretty fun and the Ghost with Auto Blaster Turret smashed everything.

I flew Zuckuss, Guri and Kaa'To, all with the Mindlink. Focus tokens galore. Actually worked out really well, since Guri and Kaa'To can both generate a focus token without taking an action, so sharing the occasional stress didn't hurt too badly.

tried a GUri/Palob/Graz the hunter squad.

guri with cloaking becasue....sounds fun.

palob with TLT and i think crackshot.beause......wanted to see what crackshot in action looks like and I have no idea what a `palob` is anyways

graz the hunter because.....i heard from someone its terrible and i wanted to see why

fun match. had a can of guinness and ate a couple nacho chip type things

I flew dual VCX against triple imperial aces. VCX are brutal.

How does it work against said imp aces?

Gunner, fcs, autoblaster. If an ace is in front of or within range 1 of either VCX it takes hits, loses stealth device. It's nearly impossible to completely dodge both. They just chew them up.

I was stuck trying to put a 3rd ship in there and having fits. I'll have to give this a whirl. Appreciate the insight.

I flew

Darth Vader (TIE/x1, ATC, Engine, Adaptability)

Carnor Jax (PtL, RGP, Autothrusters, Stealth)

The Inquisitor (PtL, TIE/v1, Autothrusters)

to victory in the Store Championship at Spelens hus in Malmö, Sweden.

Edit - congratulations on the win also

Also loving the fact people are trying guri out

I've tried twice and both times it was instant death (guess it's my flying)

Hera Syndulla (50) - VCX-100

Fire Control System (2), Autoblaster Turret (2), "Zeb" Orrelios (1), Intelligence Agent (1), Engine Upgrade (4)

"Chopper" (50) - VCX-100

Fire Control System (2), Autoblaster Turret (2), Tactician (2), Gunner (5), Ion Projector (2)

We are gearing up for a couple 59 point cross faction tournaments (where you have to bring at least 2 different faction ships, and all "faction" restrictions are removed)

I flew:

2x Green squad awings + atanni mindlink + title + chardaan + crackshot

tansari point vet scyk + atanni mindlink + title + tractor beam

Lost one game, won another!

And we also brought out the Aturi Cluster stuff and started a game there. I even painted my y-wing in the SR71 ways.

On the 100 point front, I practiced with Dengar and Guri for a bit around some asteroids...

This weekend, played in the cancer tourney. Ran 4 A-Wings mostly because they are by far the most fun Rebel ship to fly. Did well, but ran into a brick wall of a Double VCX plus Biggs list.

At CAC I ran:

Palp shuttle

Academy pilot

Wampa

Omega leader w/ juke & comms

Howlrunner

I went 6-0 the whole day and took home 1st place.

I went against U-boats imps and rebs and had a blast.

I tried several games with a jumpmaster (Dengar), G1a starfighter (4lom) and n'dru suhlak with clusters

clusters with PS7, deadeye, stims and guidance chips are NASTY.

Dengar is fun but I fear not quite up tehre for the cutting edge of competition.

The starfighter? Did not like. Never liked B-wings either.

Tried them vs Imperial aces (inquisitor, Soontir and Vader) and rebels (Han Solo+Poe) if that matters.

Played in the CAC tournamnent over the weekend. My list was "Get to Da Choppa!":

VCX Chopper - ABT, Hera Crew, Han Solo Crew, FCS

Biggs - R4-D6, Integrated Astro

2x Prototype Pilots w/Chaardan Refits

Went 5-1. Beat a Fat Dash/Tycho, Dengar, G1A, N'dru, Z-95 Cluster Guidance.swarm, and two triple Jumpmaster lists.

Lost to a Kanan VCX with double Rec Spec and a Chewie Falcon with Gunner and Predator.

Great fun and my list is loads of fun to fly. Especially getting to shout "Get to da Choppa!" a lot.

I played a strange "control" list for Scum at a friend's house. We wanted to have a tournament between 6 of our local group (Could only hold 6 at his house) to see who could make the most effective Control list.

He described Control as denying actions and choices for movement. With the Jumpmaster I could often stop choice of movement pretty well, even better when the YV and Jumpmaster both bumped up, I had a Ywing stuck until it died. 4-Lom was super fun too.

4-LOM (27)

Stay On Target (2)
Outlaw Tech (2)
Fire-Control System (2)
Tractor Beam (1)
Mist Hunter (0)
Contracted Scout (25)
Intimidation (2)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Feedback Array (2)
Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)
Trandoshan Slaver (29)
Greedo (1)
Boba Fett (1)
Dengar (3)
Total: 100

I still needed to try out my Tie adv Proto, so I ended up flying this list. It was pretty descent, tough I flew against a Ghost which butchered my Tie and F/O pretty fast. The Prototype was a lot of fun to fly! :)

Academy Pilot (12)

Omega Squadron Pilot (22)

TIE/fo Fighter (17), Comm Relay (3), Juke (2)

Darth Vader (35)

TIE Advanced (29), TIE/x1 (0), Juke (2), Engine Upgrade (4), Accuracy Corrector (3)

The Inquisitor (31)

TIE Advanced Prototype (25), Push the Limit (3), TIE/v1 (1), Autothrusters (2)

Yep, but we didn't use Jan Ors. Still, I was deleting a Tie Fighter a turn until I dropped the shuttle out.

Jan's support making range 1 primary attacks into 6 dice can be very punishing, especially with focus added, or other modifiers. Kanan crew then pulls the stress off Jan so she can keep flying support. For some reason, I like trying to work the HWK into lists, and I'm toying around with a Ghost-Phantom-HWK list lately, trying to refine it. It's been fun so far.

Did you go up against much other wave 8 stuff?

Thanks,

Yeah, I played against Dengar and Contracted Scouts. There were also some Mist Hunters, a few Inquisitors and several Ghosts as well as some Redline (wave VII) with Guidance Chips.

Most intruguing though was the leader after swiss (whom I defeated in the semi) flew 4 Blue Squadron B-Wings with FCS and Tractor Beams, and went undefeated through swiss with it.

Flew some TAPs with a Decimator (finally picked one up). Loving the list so far.

Cool idea, gonna try this next weekend:

Hera Syndulla (47)

VCX-100 (40), Ghost (0), Fire-Control System (2), Autoblaster Turret (2), Kanan Jarrus (3)

Jan Ors (29)

HWK-290 (25), Wired (1), Dorsal Turret (3)

Sabine Wren (24)

Attack Shuttle (21), Push the Limit (3), Phantom (0)

When the attack Shuttle is undocked, Kanan can support Sabine as well for PTL-stress. Can be a very fun list to fly :)
