Anyone else still waiting on their challenge coin?
Challenge Coin
It took exactly 10 days from when I submitted my request for my challenge coin to when I received an email notification that it shipped. I didn't get any communication in the meantime, but it arrived a few days after that (USPS Priority Mail I believe). This was back in mid January, and I'm in the US. Hopefully yours will show up soon!
yes
FWIW it took them about a month to get mine to me, and my SC was in February.

Same here. I was waiting about a month for mine and our tournament was in either late January or early February.
Yep, still waiting. Our event was 3/26, and I filed the request a couple days later.
fist sc was 3/14 i got mine last week. I think theyre just running behind.
havent heard back from the 2nd one i put in for on the 2nd of april
I'm awaiting my second shipment of two coins. I made the request on 3/28, and it says 'In Process'.
Previously, I had won one and requested it on 2/21, and it then shipped 3/3. I forget when it arrived.
So, it's a little slower than before.
So the Challenge is getting the coins... Interesting.
It took about a month for me.
How is it that your Store Championships did not have these to hand out? I went to two Championships in March(3/12 and 3/26) and recieved my Challenge Coins the day of for 3rd and 2nd place, respectively.
But are they anything more than bragging rights? They are nice and heavy, very cool to show off but are otherwise pointless. I doubt I can go to the bar with my military buddies and slam one down when they call for Challenge Coins. Is FFG doing anything with them?

FFG didn't have enough for every championships kit and so some kits came with little IOU cards.

They're bragging rights only. I find it useful as a super-fancy coin for coin flip situations (if we're tied for points bid, if we want to do a coin flip for a contested situation, etc.)
I use it as a turn counter.

I did happen to have my armada coin in my pocket the last time coins were called for, and "automatically" had to buy the next round. (lol my friends don't appreciate war games).

Same. Imperial side is Blue and Rebel side is orange.

Military Unit coins were just as worthless. I had amassed a huge collection in one particular year. One commander, remembering that he already gave me one, asked if there was something else I'd like instead. I said "sure, three photo albums to store them all in". He called my CDR and I got a Three-day out of it.

Yea, I have some from the CNO, a few captains, Admirals, and even the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff (one Michael Mullen). It is fun collecting them

Some store championships did have them on hand, some didn't. One local store noticed that there were Armada coins in the tournament kits for Imperial Assault so I assume a shipping SNAFU might have caused them to use the cards instead to claim coins for some kits so they could have time to make more.
I just got the notice yesterday that my coins shipped, so it took them about 20 days to process the request.
As for what I plan to do with my coins:
Well, I had won a couple of medals; one for X-Wing, and a couple for Armada. But, in my friendly nature, I think it's an unsavory practice to boast and brag. wearing those medals is essentially doing that. That said, I mostly play the Empire. Gloating and browbeating seems to fit with that, and our community is getting to know one another more, so I can get away over-the-top behavior.
So, I decided to go whole hog: I bought at black military-style jacket. I put Empire patches on it, and have started hanging the medals on it. The more medals I get, the more I look like an Imperial/Italian generalissimo. Now that they're switching to challenge coins, I'm having to think of ways to hang them on myself (I'm thinking somehow fastened on the shoulders).
Solder a Loop on the Top.
Make Medals out of them.
Honestly, go for the full General.
Hell, I could probably look up a reputable trophy supply store to get you the bits and pieces...
