Wave 9 may not be out in 2016. Ouch.

Ouch, that's a rather longer gap between waves than I was expecting. Is that a worst case scenario, or the probable date? (I'm not currently able to listen to the podcast.)

Edit: Although I guess it would make sense if they're looking at a decent proportion of it being Rogue One related.

Well, plenty of time to save up and get caught up.

On the topic of Valen Rudor, he was in the finals at Roanoke. The way his opponent beat him was to block him on a debris cloud so that he couldn't take his actions. Valen with prockets at range 2 is really dangerous to shoot at, since he can move in and get a focus for the procket shot.

We've been pushing the Valen Hype Train for a while.

I will sum up some of the "facts" in the interview:

Possible ship fix ideas:
Starviper: ship is good, just should be cheaper
Scyk: Add a shield with the title
Kihraxz: Maybe also bit cheaper (don´t know if this will fix)

Scum Aces is definetively planned

Assault gunboat: never say never ;)

YV-666: boost through good scum crew options

Stuff in Wave 9 will directly counter of jumpmasters (intentional)

Intentional draw: When hard to control, better to make it legal

Oh, so what you're saying is instead of decriminalizing them and offering better addiction and mental health care, we should have an all-out war on drugs?

My hat's off to Alex. Always well-spoken, insightful, and open about the design process (when he can be). I'm glad he and (now the late) Frank can for the most part shrug off the mean-spirited things said on these forums. The things that some people say on here can be disappointing and depressing. I know I've had to stop reading these forums at times so they wouldn't continue to suck fun out of the game for me.

In the case of the phantom, they changed the timing for decloak, which didn't require changing the actual pilots cards in any way, just the decloak reference card.

The balance discussion from Alex on the three "dud" Scum ships is insightful. They still don't seem to have the capability to confidently balance ships with precision out of the gate (it's difficult, and exactly why is a really long conversation), but they can at least benefit from hindsight and release new stuff to fix old ships. It's almost like a conspiracy to sell us more ships. It keeps working to sell more expansions, right? :D

P.S. the free +1 hull for the Heavy Scyk title, I had publicly run the MathWing 2.0 numbers on that something like a year ago... ;)

I totally have a bitchin Action VI Bulk Transport named the "Drunken Nerf"

The Kihrax and Star Viper are priced okay, the only problem is the pilots don't have good abilities.

As for the Scyk I blame the dial. It was named an interceptor hence the Ma-3 Scyk Interceptor yet it has no green turns.

The only ship that was over-costed was TIE Defender. It cost more than some large based ships.

Also NO TO FORMATS! I am sure once Resistance and 1stOrder get enough ships to fill out their faction you can split those factions apart from the primary and the balance of power will be evenly distributed.

Guris ability is great, though itd be even better on higher PS. Xizors isnt bad, but limits how you can use him if you want his ability to actually matter. The generics are absolutely overcosted. And talonbane in the kihraxz has a fantastic ability. Its just on the wrong ship. In a starviper hed be amazing.

Thanks! I will say that interviewing Alex is podcast easy mode.

Guris ability is great, though itd be even better on higher PS. Xizors isnt bad, but limits how you can use him if you want his ability to actually matter. The generics are absolutely overcosted. And talonbane in the kihraxz has a fantastic ability. Its just on the wrong ship. In a starviper hed be amazing.

The main problem with Talonbane's ability defensively is its worthless against any secondary weapon. Which you see a lot of now. It would be a lot better if he just gained 1 die at range one while attacking and 1 die at range 3 while defending. Instead of this doubling of this range bonus stuff.
