Natures Irk clarification

By kezzzza, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Can anyone please clafify for me.

In Choke Point do the Civilians block movement and line of sight.

In Cabin of the Lost can only Desmond pick up the Civilians - it seems to read only Desmond can save the Civilians but can the heros pick up the civilians to take to Desmond?

I tried researching this for hours and am totally finding two answer, one yes and one no - can anyone clarify for me?

I don't own the Co-op expansions, so I am not sure on that.

But if it isn't stated in the rules that the heros can pick up the Civilians, then they normally can't do that.

If the Civilians are figures or counted as figures and nothing is stated otherwise, yes they block line of sight.

If they block movement I am not sure, if they count as friendly figures for the heros they would not block movement, but would block movement for the monsters.

What do the rules say about the Civilians?

In the Choke Point the civilians do not block movement. This is the case because the rules don't say that they do. 99% of the time villager tokens do block movement, but not here. This means that the Merriods can occupy spaces containing villagers.

In Cabin of the Lost only Desmond can free them. The heroes can not pick up villager tokens because again, it isn't stated.

Just think of it as following, any token is just a piece of dust laying on the ground until the rules tell you what exactly they can do.

That's what I meant... If the Civilians are figures then they block line of sight... otherwise not.

But you stated it clearer than me anyway, so thanks.
