Why is everyone suddenly so upset about IDs?!

I love inertial dampeners! That white hard stop was one of my favorite tricks to pull with IG-88C in the asymmetrical Brobots list I took to store champs. No one expects it, especially if you're already stressed (Wired helps).

In all seriousness, I love this community and the fly casual/don't be a **** mentality. As we discuss the important aspects of the game (including tournament rules), don't forget to stay lighthearted and focus on the fun of the game (whatever that means to you, as long as it respects that other people may find different aspects fun)! I'd love to hear you guys talk about some of the entertaining, falling over laughing moments you've had playing this game, whether in the last week or back when you were first getting into it.

Here is a fun one from Easter Sunday.

My brother and cousin don't play much and own no ships but wanted to play. I let them each pick a faction and took what was left in a 3-way 100pt death match. None of the lists were meta shattering. Two key ships though, my brother had imperials with Vessery. My cousin had a Binayre with Deadman Switch.

We got to a point where I had 2 ships left and they each had three left with seven of the eight remaining ships having 1 hp and the Binayre at full health.

After activation, the Binayre was in the middle of a furball with Vessery on his tail at point blank range and was target locked by a tie bomber. If Vessery could pull the 4 hit shot on the Binayre to trigger Deadman he would take out Himself, both of my ships and two of my cousin's leaving him with a 2 on 1 against a crippled Thug. He rolls Crit, Hit, focus, blank, kicks in the Target Lock and rolls another hit, and focuses for Crit and 3 hits. Its on. My cousin rolls blank evade. We are all on the edge of our seats to see if the Direct Hit comes up but its the one where you just get a stress then flip over. Binayre lives.

Next round almost the same situation but this time I take my Green A-Wing and bug out while my brother takes his Obsidian and does the same. My brother has a tough choice, if he takes the shot on the Binayre, he probably kills him leaving the Green vs Obsidian 1 on 1, but if he passes on the shot, he probably loses his 2 ships anyway. He takes the shot and BOOM, the Deadman takes out 5 other ships. It was so much fun. My Green was crippled by a previous Crit so I ended up losing to the Odsidain but it was sooo much fun.

Next time we get together I plan on doing the two 30 point generic ship ideas from the "Pack Your Bags..." thread.

Thanks for sharing! That sounds like a blast! ;) I'm a big fan of feedback on my Z's, but I might have to try out Deadman's switch now! And that 30pt generic idea sounds amazing. I'll have to see if I can get anyone in my local group to try it with me.
