Spreadsheet mavens-- looking for help with win/loss tracking

By MrTopHatJones, in Star Wars: Armada

So one of my friends had an idea that since there are 6-8 of us that play Armada, we could start keeping track of friendly games we play and record wins and losses. Ideally, I'd have the player, their head to head win/loss vs the other players, and their overall win/loss. The only problem... is that I'm godawful at Excel.

I know this is almost certainly the wrong forum to ask, but since you guys are (to quote Ben Affleck in Good Will Hunting) "wicked smaaaaaaaaht" I thought I'd ask here to see if

A. Someone has already done this and I can cannibalize their spreadsheet and change the names.

B. Someone can point me in the right direction to do this myself.

I mean, push to shove we can do it manually, but... what's the fun in that?

Thanks!

I'd recommend using a drop down list for the player names as well, if you're using formulas you want to keep everything consistent.

Stick a list of player names somewhere, separate tab, and then use data validation and the list type.

Spread sheets are my life, something went wrong somewhere!

Cool! I'm still working on mine but you'll probably finish it more quickly (and more thoroughly) than I.

So it's done, but I'm not sure how to link a downloadable version from Google Drive. Anyone have a dropbox I can throw this into?

Generally if its Shared for Viewing, you give a download/print link on it. :)

its something you normally have to specifically turn off.

I believe it's relatively bug-free. It's a touch redundant (by the time I realized you'd have to enter players' names twice I had already gone past the point of no return on the head to head logic and confused myself). It's not perfect and it's very basic but it's more fun than typing everything in manually and it helped me learn some Excel.

Tested by Downloading, so you're all good :D
