Upgrade idea.

So with Scum/Rebel veterans down the field, been trying to think of a balanced upgrade which might be included..I know there's lot's of similar threads each wave but I thought i'd throw my 10 cents into the hat.

Ablative/Reinforced Armour - Modification 0 points.

The first time you are dealt a face up damage card, turn that card face down without resolving it's effects, then discard this card. Can only be equpiped to ships with 4 or more hull.

One possible problem with this card is the boost to Y-Wings.

Thoughts ?

The thought of that, chewie (although chewie and that would trigger at the same time, wouldn't it...) and maybe reinforced deflectors on a ghost is literally making me drool at the tanky potential.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all, but you are definitely going to have to give it a point cost at least similar to shield upgrade, since it's essentially a shield upgrade that also stops proton bombs. Also making it cost a few points makes it impossible to take in quad TLT lists.

Should be at least 1 point.

Well the 0 cost is ment to make it useful for ships like the Kihraxz and generic Starviper to be slightly more resistant to crits, this card doesn't get rid of the damage card like Integrated Astromech does.

Maybe limit it to crits with the ship header ?

Yah, but IA was added as a specific fix to a specific ship. This would apply to a LOT of ships besides the ones you listed (y-wings, bwings, k-wings - which definitely don't need a fix, G1As, HWKs, not to mention all of the large base ships). A guaranteed crit block, even when you still take the face-down damage, is a powerful upgrade for a lot of ships that arne't already using their modification slot for anything else.

B-Wings only have three hull, and K-Wings would be usings chips or long ranged sensors, how many of those ships bar the Y-Wing see much play ?

True enough on b-wings. K-wings have seen quite a bit of play in wave 7, wave 8 hasn't been out long enough to see how it'll shake out. HWKs see play in scum, and I've been playing G1As quite a bit since they were spoiled/released. And large ships get played plenty, though they're more likely to be using their mod on something else already.

Had edited my previous post about K-Wing, which also may have a better choices like long ranged sensors, chimps or advanced slam, so goes for bombers and Punishers.

At 4+ Hull @ 0pts I think it's a hard buy. Maybe 5 Hull OR Shields @ 0pts.

Why 4 would not work is RGI. It would make PS5 Interceptors near uncriticable with the mod + Hull Upgrade.

Also most Large-based Ships have high hull. Leaving it unrestricted to base sizes would greatly increase the tank-ability of some builds that are already very tanky.
