Interesting question came up today. Can you run duel recon spec and get 3 focus off a focus action on this build?

Yes.

Put three Recon Specialist on a Decimator and you can get FOUR Focus tokens by taking the Focus Action.

Recon Specialist gives you +1 token when you take the Focus Action. It stacks but does not work when you simply acquire or are assigned a Focus token.

I would say no do to the faq rule:

Q: Can a ship perform the same Upgrade card action or Damage card action more than once per round?

A: No. Having more than one copy of the same card that requires an action to trigger its ability does not allow you to perform that action more than once per round.

So you do a focus that triggers the first recon specialist an since you cant do it more the once per round anymore would be useless.

Now i could be wrong but that is how i read that rule.

You may not perform the same action more than one time even if you have multiple instances of that action. Put an Engine Upgrade on a PtL Interceptor and still no Boosting twice.

Recon Specialist does NOT require an action to trigger although it is triggered as part of a specific action. If you have multiple Recon Specialists on a ship ALL will trigger when you perform a Focus Action and each adds +1 Focus token as a result.

I see why you a making the mistake Ravinoc. The thing you are confusing is "taking an action" with things that trigger when some event happens. Recon Specialist is NOT an Action upgrade; it only relies on a specific action being taken to function yet it is completely unrelated to that Action.

RecSpec doesn't involve using the same action more than once. It involves using it once and getting more things out of it when you do.

1 focus per attack, you just get the opportunity to reduce as many as 3 separate attacks by one red die each.
