Title says (or asks) it all.
Does FFG plan on adding the dice from Rebellion to the Dice App?
Probably not, the game comes with all the dice you will ever need.
They've added the dice from all of the other Star Wars related games (I think they're all in there), so I'm guessing yeah.

All of their other games require at least two core sets worth of dice, so they sell individual dice packs for those games. The app is an alternative to the dice pack. This game doesn't require a dice pack (unless you reeeealy want simultaneous rolling on missions with 6+ per side).

Isn't five dice the maximum you're supposed to ever roll?
I'm personally not a fan of dice apps, when real dice are easily available. They just don't feel right. (YMMY, of course.)
I agree that I'd rather have the real dice, and disagree the other games require two cores worth. I don't own two cores worth of live dice for any of the games I own and they flow just fine.
As was pointed out, the app is an alternative (not a requirement), so I don't see any reason why they wouldn't add the dice.

This is my point. My wife and I played last night and it was mildly annoying to not have 20 dice in front of us for the simultaneous rolls in combat considering you are supposed to leave the dice rolls out and use the symbols to activate the abilities on the ground/space tactics cards.

Turns out, you're right "COMPONENT LIMITATIONS If players run out of a component type during the game, they should obey the following rules: Dice: Each player can roll a maximum of five black dice and five red dice in each mission or attack.". However, see my above comment (simultaneous rolling is annoying with only one set during a big battle).

Thanks. I don't see why people have to rain their tangible dice on my digital parade. I like rolling both physically and digitally, and if we had the dice in the app, I could roll simultaneously with my opponent to make things easier.

It doesn't. See my comments above in this post.
See, I'm not the type who gets annoyed if there's not "enough" dice in a game. You simply take what you need as pass back and forth as appropriate or needed. (shrugs) its just one less thing to have to worry over.
I haven't seen the component limitation yet (I'mma look that up here in a bit), so maybe it's a moot point?

But, again, since you and your opponent have to reference how many symbols you rolled in a battle (to see if you need to use any of the X icons for the tactics cards), why should you not have more than 10 even if the rules said you can't throw more than 10 dice?
Because my opponent and I don't NEED to roll simultaneously. I understand some folks like to, but I can keep track of how many I have rolled while I wait for my opp to roll theirs.
I don't mind waiting And/or passing dice.
And if there IS a component limitation, then there's ABSOLUTELY no argument that can be made otherwise. If the rules say "limit 5", and there's 10 dice in the box, then that's that...right? ; )
For some it's easy to remember what they rolled. For others, we'd like to leave the dice out to see how many X symbols we have left to use. We prefer rolling simultaneously. It's easier. It would make sense to have the dice in the app for us, and I can't imagine no one else wants it or that it wouldn't be easy to add.
I for one don't really care how many dice you have on the table or if you use an app or what. But just pointing out you aren't really supposed to roll simultaneously. The attacker is supposed to resolve an attack, then the defender. The difference is subtle, but basically the attacker doesn't get the benefit of knowing how well the defender will roll before he has to assign damage and choose what tactic cards to play. If you want to play it differently of course I'm not going to stop you and it probably wouldn't make a difference in the majority of cases anyway but I'm just pointing out what the rules say, because I'm that kind of guy.

Apologies, looks like I completely missed that part. Just checked the learn to play booklet (and last night was our first game FYI), and yeah it says as the attacker, I do my first attack first, then my opponent does their attack back, then back and forth, etc. (and of course there's options to retreat IIRC, and then there's ground combat, etc.). We didn't know. Looks like we have some more rules to go through, and thus that would completely negate the purpose of this topic if you were never rolling simultaneously (unless someone just *really* liked rolling digitally instead of rolling the actual dice). Sigh. :/
Looks like it makes attacking and getting that first attack off pretty powerful.

Oh yeah see in that case it'd be a perfect add right? That app is super for bookkeeping in cases like this.
I'm of the camp that hopes they add them to the app!

While I understood the rules perfectly, I'm not fluent yet so didn't catch that as well!

Just remember that any defending units destroyed by the attacker still get to fire back that combat round before they are cleared off the board. So conceptually the units attack simultaneously but the dice are not rolled simultaneously.

Thanks. Yeah, it's apparent we need to re-read the rules in full now.
The max dice in combat is 5 per color, and each side rolls their dice separately from the other.
The max in an opposed mission is 10 per side (remember that every leader in the system contributes to the dice pool if able). You would only ever need more dice for those really involved missions with 3+ leaders per side.
Yep, we had already discussed this and it was brought to my attention above. Thanks though!

There is a lot of text above, I was just condensing and summarizing for anyone else wandering into this thread.

I mean, it was only like a 2 and a half minute read.
Someone's gotta be REALLY lazy to need a summary of a single-page thread lol. [Oops! 2nd page now!] But hey, thanks I guess.
Me personally I like having multiple sets of dice for any game where multiple people are rolling it just saves time and hassel . Imperial assault i have one set for imperials and one for rebel. I even have an extrA set of d6s in my star wars risk where only the person who turn it is rolls its just easier that person has theres at ready and doesn't have to ask u for them/find them and handing them over without that makes things smoother.
If there was NEED for more dice than what came in the box than FFG would absolutely (and they still might) add Rebellion to the SW Dice App. I was told in an e-mail (when I inquired about another SW game with dice) that all SW games would be supported.
I posted the following question to FFG at this page: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/contact/support/
Question:
Are there plans to add Rebellion to the Star Wars Dice App? Thanks.
Hello,
Thanks for your email regarding the Star Wars Dice app. We will likely add the Rebellion dice to the app, although I couldn’t tell you exactly when that update might be available.

I know it's not all that useful of a response, but it's all we've got.
