Congrats Rémi!

Congrats Rémi!

Definitely a top player, making mistakes against him is fatal, had to play him twice and they were my only 2 losses of the Regional.

Québec City Regionals are done - 54 players total.

Winner - Rémi Dumais - 1st after Swiss - completely undefeated

Palp Aces (Palp shuttle, Wampa, Inquisitor (V1, PTL, AT), Omega Leader (Juke, Comms))

Runner up - Peter Lavoie Massicotte - 7th after Swiss

Palp Aces (" Howard aces" list, whatever that is exactly)

Top 4

Pierre-Yves Duval (Me) - 4th after Swiss - lost to Winner

Dengar (Mindlink, Zuckuss, Counter Measures, Punishing One, R4 Agromech), Manaroo (Mindlink, Unhinged, Intelligence Agent, Feedback Array), Kaa'to Leeachos (Mindlink)

I forget who's who in the top 8 as I don't know them all, but the other top 4 that didn't win was a TIE Crackswarm, not sure on its setup exactly, had 6 TIEs, lost to Runner up

Awesome to see some Canadian meta! Congrats to all!

The regional of Grosseto, Italy, was won by a 3 jumpmasters who beated a Dengaroo in the final. Top 4 saw a 4 ships rebel swarms featuring stressbot and cracken and a Kath&Boba scum list

WAIT, WHAT? :D Is that a placeholder for the actual list?

Rebel Operative + Gunner

Rebel Operative + Mercenary Copilot

Rebel Operative + Mercenary Copilot

Dash Rendar + Tractor Beam + Outrider

Anyone else seeing three turret-less HWKs and a tractor Outrider in the top 16? Am I going crazy? Is someone trolling?

Ninja'd! Not alone!

We might somehow be sharing the same halucination.

Quebec regional results are now here (57 players) http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1838 some lists are missing, but they are being filled in as players read the heads up on facebook.

It's painful to look at, went 5-1 but due to a scoring error got placed as 4-2. I could of been a contender lol.

Where on Facebook did they say post to here? I thought they had all the lists?

Couldn't you tell the TO about the scoring error and got it corrected?

What happened?

And what were you flying that day? I might have saw you and I like to put a face on forum members.

And they posted it on X-Wing Quebec. They have all the lists, but writing 57 lists on list juggler can be a long task for one guy, so if people could write their own list, it would help him a lot.

Lessons learned really. I had no way to know there was an error as they only posted match ups not standings.

So I go into the announcements being like okay I'm 5-1 I'm in for sure.

They didn't use the normal score sheets just little slips with two names and a place for points. So there was no check here you won, modified lost to ensure things. The scores got written down wrong in my third game, and so I was playing lower ranked guys.

Even though I had won 5 games it was against lower ranked players, so what do you do? The TOs had to make a hard decision that would make someone unhappy and it ended up being me. In fairness while I was super pissed about the result I entirely agree with their decision looking back a bit removed now.

Even my third round opponent told the TOs of the error. But what was done was done. They weren't going to make things right by doing something wrong again. They did the right thing.

All of this was compounded by my only having a basic understanding of French. I tried but a combo of being tired and people speaking quickly I never heard them say anything that would have fixed the situation.

Further to the credit of how it was handled, the TOs decided to give me the bonus dice set. They didn't have to do it but they understood I was upset and had a case, they did what I've Always seen and loved about this community, they were dudes about it.

As for what I was flying I was the super Anglo who was flying Dengar Manaroo ( I called it star crossed lovers rather than dengaroo and as soon as I did my wife let me go to the tournament. I told her it was a tribute to our love).

All of my opponents were great and the day was a ton of fun with a lot of variety.

Classy of them! Glad it still turned out well.

If I'm not mistaken, I was sitting right next to you during your first game. You lost a last year Regional shield and I'm the guy that gave it back to you.

Dude! That totally was me! Like I said everyone there was a class act. Playing in Quebec was intimidating but a lot of fun. Thanks again for the token.

No problem man! Hope to see you again and play against you next time!

**** that sucks Darkhorse, shame you didn't make top 8 because of an error but i give the TO's kudo's for trying to fix the error, enjoyed talking to you in the waiting area about tanks and other military weaponry.

@ Red Castle and @ Darkhorse659

And this is why I love this game. It's the players.

We have a great community in the Quebec province. No matter what some people might think, we french canadian players are very inclusive and friendly. Never saw someone being unwelcome or treated unfairly. This is my second Regional, and I have yet to meet a player with a WAAC attitude like some of the horror stories I read from time to time on this forum.

Red Castle and Sergovan, what lists were you flying? I'm curious to know if we played each other!

I was running a pretty standard PalpAces (Palp, PRocket Inq, Classic Fel).

Nope, we have yet to play together Klutz, even though it was not my first time in Quebec City.

I'm the guy from Trois-Rivieres. Made Top 8 with 2 Bombers, Vessery and Jax.

Where on Facebook did they say post to here? I thought they had all the lists?

I'm the one who wrote the letter to FFG (edits from Klutz) and got the regionals to that store. I couldn't attend this time though, but I usually keep tabs on every event happening in Quebec City.

I was given the cryodex export file from the store owners and I could immediately see that about 60% of the lists were already put in (our local players have been "drilled" to bring in the voidstate id).

I have posted (or will post) in the Montreal and Quebec x-wing groups and the event page to try and usher players to fill in the missing squads. It's very hard to totally complete these kinda of things if they're not done in advance, but that's the way it goes for large events I guess.

Post in the Ottawa/Gatineau one as well. I know at least one of the missing one was there, but I don't know all the locals yet, so there could be more.
