the ghost is up there as the coolest **** ship in the wave, rivaled only by ol jumpy
it's a fantastic boat of options and new tech, and a really crazy cool model to boot

Agreed. Ghost is my favorite ship in a long time. By far more options and play styles with that ship than anything else. Nothing comes close.
But yeah, they needed to narrow that down to like 5 or 6 pastel colors. It looks like the color scheme was decided by a 5 year old that just got an art set.

If only because of that grammar.
Rebels have a bunch of really strong squads that match up really poorly against aces or uboats. You can take the gamble and fly rebels. Or you can fly something well rounded. I think a PS alpha strike with rebels is pretty meta savy. But... No one has explored that archetype.
As long as a jake squad can drop a Uboat first exchange or pick up an ace in the first exchange it has a game vs the meta.
Im talking about using the PS 8 Z with crack or VI and a homing missile and go from there. It's not a forgiving build and we"" the X wing community is not comfortable with ordinance outside the obvious, yet.
I've been testing the following Z swarm Rebel list to good effect:
Blount (Draw Their Fire, Tracers)
Biggs (R4-D6, Plasma Torps, Guidance Chips)
Tala (Homing Missile, Guidance Chips)
2x Tala (Concussion Missile, Guidance Chips)
It will absolutely destroy anything it gets shots on during one round of combat.
No. Stupid Ghost. =)

Nice!
Thats a very strong alpha. And it will kill a Ghost unless it choses Evade as an action (about 75% chance then I think)

Indeed. I've taken out several Lothal Rebels before they even get a chance to to get a first shot.
The list definitely struggles a bit against Imperial Aces and Dash, but with practice you learn to corral them where you want them to go.

It's almost like it was designed for a cartoon instead of a live-action movie.

This looks bloody disgusting, especially with Draw Their Fire on Blount. It's a struggle to find ways to keep him useful after his payload has been dropped, but this solves that problem neatly. He protects Biggs, who protects the rest of the swarm.
From my own experience in the Battleground Regional, my Tel Trevura and four Black Sun Zappers performed far better than I could have hoped.
I can vouch for that, I'm pretty sure I played you in the first round of swiss and it was my loss for the day.
I'm glad you were able to get into the Top 16. You can really fly those guys.

Are bad color schemes somehow helpful for cartoons? Beige, off-beige, and yellow is a bad place to start whether it's cartoon or real life.

No, but the paint scheme works in the cartoon because the colors are displayed better and flat areas of color don't stand out as much. The one we got however doesn't hit the right colors and stands out terribly because those colors are so blocky.
I don't quite have an idea how to fix it, yet, but it is on my to do list for painting, because the model itself is cool. As is the concept of the ship.

Literally started a thread about this in the painting forum, as I have no idea how to repaint it either lol.
we are to the last 2-3 weeks of regionals, in the US anyway. Nationals is in less than a month here, and I think I am ok with the meta. Yes it is a bit rough out there for rebels, but A-wings have been a ton of fun to fly and the ghost has been a huge surprise to me. I do miss my T-70 X-Wings but I think that the unspoiled cards in Heroes of the Resistance will probably help out there
The ghost may be goofy looking, but it's a very well designed ship. Plenty of ways to play it, and it's not just another stupid turret. The attack shuttle thing is cool too. It's generics are great for their points, and the named pilots are good too. No EPT alot, so you really have to put thought into crew combos. No 1 agility, so C-3PO isn't stupid on it either. I really like it, all my rebel lists lately have had one.

I agree, except: C3PO IS stupid on a Ghost

I mean, if you bring Lando (crew) as well, MAYBE it's ok? Maybe?

He meant its not stupidly good and therefor an auto-include as it is on any high value one agility rebel ship.

It really sucks that 3PO takes away so much freedom. Whenever I see someone theorize a cool Rey combo I can't help but think "This is cool, but 3PO is probably a lot better than this crew combo". Thats really depressing.

I want Kanan and Kyle so badly, but I just don't see it being better than c-3p0 and gunner. Or C-3p0 and Kanan. Or C-3p0 and Luke. Or C-3p0 and anything.

I think Kanan/Kyle have a place alongside Rey with PtL/Engine/New MF title. Her ability helps better than just Threepio, the new title gives you a Focus after dropping a Stress from your 3-Bank, and you can do it again next turn if you so choose!

I don't know if it is better, though. C-3p0 is a guaranteed evade when rolling one die, and with Rey's ability you have a decent chance at a second. You have a 51% chance of an evade with rey's ability and no focus, 86% chance of an evade with focus. At range one or two 3po is better, and range three is a push. I think Kanan 3-po is much better defensively, so it depends on how much you don't need the focus on defense and can spend it on offense.

My issue with Kanan without Kyle is that now you can't take a second Focus, which is the same sort of Lone Wolf situation where you need those tokens for consistent results. And if you don't take the old Falcon title, you can't take Evade, which is really where Threepio helps the most in my opinion.
At PS8 with Engine Upgrade and the new Falcon title, I feel like PtL Rey has better options and flexibility in manoeuvre/action choice this way instead of expecting to get hit and mitigating that damage with Threepio.
I'm doing Rey with Tactican and Gunner. Stress falcon away!
Tacoma, WA regionals flight 1 starts today at 4pm. Any twitchcraft happening?
Not, that I care, I'll be there! I'm in flight 2, 9am tomorrow.
