Anchorage regional was won by Palpatine Aces (Omicron/Vader/Fel)
2nd was N'Dru and 3 Tansarii Point Manlger Scyks
Top 4 included double-VCX (Chopper/Hera) and 4 TLT Y-Wings with BTL-A4 and Overclocked.

Assuming you are the player on the left in the feed - congrats on placing so well with your oddball list. 2 thumbs up from me!
My first top 8 round in Selden was against Fel, inquisitor, Palp
And your list? You won?
I won, lost the top four match. Wampa, inquisitor, palp shuttle, omega leader
Yeah, I need to see how it played.

Scyks? Get. Out.
TPVs FTW!
Last two games. The dual VCX was polite enough to k turn Hera off the board, but he was already in trouble. The last game found a full health TPV versus a full health Soontir. The results were predictable.

I don't see Fel in those lists. In fact, from what I've noticed, Fel isn't being played all that much at the moment. He's certainly not an auto include in imperial lists.

Runner-Up:
- Inquisitor + PtL + title + AT; Omega Leader + Comm Relay + Juke; Wampa; Omicron + Palp
Top 4:
- Inquisitor + PtL + title + AT; Omega Leader + Comm Relay + Juke; Wampa; Omicron + Palp
Top 8:
- Inquisitor + PtL + title + AT; Omega Leader + Comm Relay + Juke; Wampa; Omicron + Palp
- IG88B&C + Crackshot + Glitterstim + HLC + FCS + AT + title
New York is still going on. Final match has yet to be played, but it's an exact mirror match. 3 out of 4 Top 4 were Inq / OL / Wampa / Palp.
Edit.
plz post it here.Whoa, is anyone elses mind blown by Ian MacDonald's runner-up list from Calgary?
It's on the first page!

And people hate U-Boat players for netlisting.
Just before wave 8 came out I remember a bunch of complaining by Palp Acewing babies that the stresshog was too good for its points and an autoinclude. Too good for its points and too much of an autoinclude coughSoontirFelcough.
good ole NY
I remember my Wave 7 store champs, at the time when the forums were gripped by an unrealistic fear of TLTs, where we had 3 consecutive palp ace winners before I decided **** it and brought a hard-counter using Deathrain conner nets
even then, the runner-ups were brobots and two palp aces. It was conner net heaven out there and not much has changed

I guess Wave 8 is a bit more complicated because Scouts, unlike TLTs, actually do ruin certain ships (like poor deathrain
)
TLTs ruin certain ships when used in multiples. Deathrain won't last long against 4 Y-wings with them.
As strong as the imperial dominance has been recently. It is still good to see most imperial ships are competitive again (except bombers) even if by competitve it's only 1-2 named ships from each ship type.
Advanced, tie Ln, interceptor, tie fo, adv prototype, shuttle, tie phantom, and Decimator (and soon tie defender maybe the bomber as well)
At least 9 competitve ships! That's some decent internal balance even if it's mostly just named ships.
I agree, although I'd be hesitant to use the TIE Phantom these days. Whisper is great, but I see too many pilot skill 10+ guys (Poe, Vader, Dengar, etc.) that it kind of puts her on the back burner for now. She doesn't last very long with only 2 defense dice -- even with the emperor's help.

Up against a ps 10 ship?
Agent Kallus.
Now play smart and you wont take any dmg.
Unless you roll all blanks.
One focus is all you need to negate dmg.
Whisper is a beast in the right hands regardless
I actually haven't seen above PS 8 in awhile, it's seen to have gone out of style. Dengar and Fel are exceptions but I don't see them in most of the reports.

Still, the three Scyks were able to take out Vader and the Shuttle. I kind of like the set up of turtling Scyks with Mindlink. It is a neat idea.
Amiens Regional (France)
38 players:
Won by triple scouts vs Dash Lothal in the final.
Top 4
Palp + Soontir +inquisitor
Ten Nub, Cracken, Miranda (with ordnance)
Murray, KY Regional was won by Deroche with Zuckuss/Tel Travura/Palob Godalhi.
Second place flew Vader/Inquisitor/Rudor. Other top 8 lists include a triple u-boat, Bossk/Tel, double-Ghost + A-Wing.
I was the one with Tel and Bossk. The list was: http://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f=Scum%20and%20Villainy&d=v4!s!172:57,-1,-1,-1,180,112:29:6:;131:140,110,-1,178,174,173,112:-1:-1:&sn=Tel%20%26%20Bossk
It was intended to hunt down Imperial Aces, but I never faced them. Instead I faced 2 Scout lists (1 w/Zuckuss and the other with N'dru), 2 Dash/Ghost lists, and Deroche twice. I obliterated the 2 scout lists and 1 Dash/Ghost list. Another Dash/Ghost list I naturally tied with when Tel and Dash simultaneous fired and killed each other. Both times I faced Deroche I was beating him until he killed Tel first, then Bossk fell shortly after.
Had a great time! Looking forward to the Ohio Regional.
Edited by MegaSilverStill, the three Scyks were able to take out Vader and the Shuttle.
There are not a lot of imperial players in the local meta. Sterling is VERY good with that list. One of my strategic errors was my target priority. ..Vader, Shuttle, Soontir. I should have just had N'dru dump the clusters into Soontir vs. Try to get through both him and Vader to get to the shuttle. Vader had Prockets on him which made it more difficult.

I was going to ask that. You should have gone for Soontir first. Nevertheless, really awesome!!

Winning list, not too surprising:
Omega Leader + Juke + Comm Relay
Omicron Group Pilot + Emperor Palpatine
Wampa
Carnor Jax + Push the Limit + Autothrusters
Runner up, however was more interesting :-) :
Captain Oicunn + Predator + Engine Upgrade + Darth Vader + Rebel Captive + Gunner
Redline + Extra Munitions + Guidance Chips + Fire-Control System + Cluster Missiles + Assault Missiles
I was going to ask that. You should have gone for Soontir first.
I am going to blame Paul Heaver (not really). I was listening to Nova Squadron after Worlds last year when he was discussing strategy against Palp Aces where you have the shuttle, Soontir and some other thing. He said to kill the other thing first. It didn't work...odviously.

It's always works for me
Kill Soontir pal.
Then go all out on shuttle and poor fel, all he can do is cry

Kill soontirs pal as in friend
Then shuttle
Leaving you to deal with fel alone
NoDouble-Soontir list?

Next time I should read more carefully
Edited by IG88EMy thought why killing Soontir last does not work with this list is that with only three red dice, lower pilot skill, and no a ton economy, there is almost no way to punch through Soontir's stealth device. I think it would have been different with only Vader left, although he was more dangerous offensively.
Ya but she can deal with them.

Sorry but Kallus doesn't help much when Whisper only has 2 defense dice and she's facing 3-4 hits coming her way.

Plenty of regional results indicate that Whisper with Kallus can hold her own just fine. My top 8 finish included.
