2016 Regionals Results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

Also interesting about Calgary is that there were no ID's in the last round! I believe a couple were offered, but rejected.

We need names so we can lawd them, the Roanoke 8 have given us villains we need heroes.

Rebels OP. FFG pls nerf

No joke. Outside of the Crack 5 A-wings, Rebels have been really struggling, especially in certain metas it seems.

Right now, it seems like it's Palp Aces, Imp Aholes, Crack Swarm, Uboats, and sometimes IGs that are on the top line of the tier. How much of this is due to the fact that people are unwilling to enter a regional with something outside that box? I can't help but feel that these archetypes are fairly beatable, but my goodness, when a regional has top 4 all Uboats, you have to wonder. Uboats are having a much more drastic (and negative, imo) effect on the meta compared to TLT last wave.

I don't know. If I look at the first page of this thread, I'm not sure the evidence supports this conclusion. There have been 8 multiple scout list in the top 8 of the 9 regionals we've had so far (not counting this weekend). Three were in a single regional and 4 regionals had none in the top 8. Multiple scout lists have won less regionals this season than 5 A-wing lists have. They hardly seem dominant and there seems to be more palp aces showing up. It's possible you may be right before the regional season is over, but I think it's a little early to draw your conclusion just yet.

They are popular and help shape the meta. They are a gatekeeper. That doesn't necessarily means that they are unbeatable.

The Hague Top 8 is reported as being 3 identical U-Boat lists, 3 Palp Aces, Dash/Lothal Rebel, and Poe/Ello/Biggs. U-Boats won. I'm not sure whether full results will make it to List Juggler.

Also interesting about Calgary is that there were no ID's in the last round! I believe a couple were offered, but rejected.

Two regionals took place in Sweden this weekend. I went to the one in Linköping, along with 57 other X-Wing players.

ListJuggler: http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=1607

Six rounds of swiss with a cut to top 8.

Faction parity was excellent, with 20 imperial, 20 rebel and 18 scum lists. And all faction were represented in the top eight. Rebels seem to be doing better in Sweden than elsewhere.

Winner:

Johan Larsson (4th in swiss) - Dash and Ghost

Second:

Victor Pluntky (2nd in swiss) - 2 U-boats and a bumpmaster

Top four:

Jonas Remne (1st in swiss) - Kanan, Biggs and stresshog

Patrik Andersson (3rd in swiss) - Triple aces

Top eight:

Mårten Isaksson (5th) - Palp aces

Danjel Lindén (6th) - Palp aces

Dejan Mauzer (7th) - Triple aces

Denis Krozun (8th) - Dash and 2 TLT Y-Wings

Edited by MrAndersson

Calgary Regional Top 8 had 2 crack swarms, scum control, mixed scum swarm, Han/Rebel, Dash/Rebel, Palp Ace (whisper, OL), and Corran-Poe-Proto.

It was very diverse and no list was overly dominant in numbers.

Even though I'm a Rebel player, worlds has been dominated by Rebels the Past 3 years... 2 of those with Falcons, and the last one with Poe and TLTs. It's nice to see a breath of fresh air for scum and Empire. Although Rebels are still making the top 8, there not totally out.

Thank god regen and fat turrets are dead. Good riddance. I'm so glad U-Boats dominate.

Top 4 in Roseville is 3 Palp Aces (2 Yorr Whisper Omega, 1 OGP Wampa, Omega, Inq) and a five ship rebel build (Biggs, 2 bandit, 2 T-70). Rebel list lost.

I'm already tired of seeing so many tripple u boats

Enough people were flying them it seems they were bound to win eventually

But some events look boring

Oh look my next game is the same as my last two

Not fun

Edit

The same maybe said about what I maybe flying, but in my own defense I was flying it before it was cool

I was top of the swiss in Fresno with;

Vader crack homing ATC chimps title

Omega lead comms juke hull

Inquisitor procket title auto thrusters ptl

I was paired with Dallas on 5 wins and a mod for our 6th match and we consulted with the TO and ID'ed.

Then family happened and I knew I was no good past 12AM. So I sacked up and had to play Jeff Wilder for my 7th and last game to have a shot at that coin swag! Jeff is amazing. One of the few guys you can't push around on the table. He flys really well. I took 2 shields on inquisitor from Wes mid way through our match and played arc dodger 101 until our final match came hoping beyond hope that I blocked his 4k with a 1 turn. Just out. Naked dice his 4 vs my 3. He rolls 2 hits I roll 1 evade. What a match!

Then in the 8th round I called the TO over and we conferenced, again. Me and Dallas had another draw. Dallas had initiative this time. :)

I've noticed TOs don't seem to be posting Regionals on listjuggler. Anyone else notice this? Anyone know why?

The to at last year regional hardly played xwing from what I gathered

Didn't seem like the type to frequent xwing message boards

They already went to the work of TOIng a long tourney and if many are using Tome, tha would have to be uploaded manually.

Was just starting to watch match 3 of the X-Wing Regional, Martinsburg, WV on Stele Enterprises You Tube, the commentator just said about a guy on screen using 3rd party dice, I thought that was a big no no

That is a really big no no... Either your dice come from FFG or they don't exist, as far as tournaments go anyway.
