Did Chicago and KS use cryodex? Given the performance of lists that were not jm5k or palp aces it would be interesting to see how many standard lists were brought.

I entered the top16 manually; here it is in List Juggler

I wouldn't get your hopes up....

That... is a lot of Rebel ships.

And HOLY #$%$#, 4 Rookies + Z made the cut!!!!!!

pretty awesome eh? was great to see so many rebels in the top 16. sadly scum was pretty under-represented. I had the pleasure of just barely beating Jeremy Howard's legendary Palp Aces list in the top 16 - it literally came down to the final shot of the round as the game went to time.

Yeah, we are in the fun part of the meta evolution now, where the real experimentation happens. Some really interesting squads are making the cut.

Chicago was an amazing tournament. Run super well and had some really great people there. Before the drop I was paired aginst Jeremy Howard. I really wish I could of played that instead of Le'ander. Either way Bombs Away preformed amazing netting me top mov in swiss.

Luckily, the other regional saw some really fantastic success from some scum lists. This game seems to be in a really good spot right now. Even if some regions lean heavily towards certain factions or builds, overall we are getting a great variety.

Really cool to see the results. I am liking this kyle+Jake combo thats beginning to see some play. Jumpmasters have still not won a regional, I think the hype, in this case, was NOT real.

I think that they are definitely strong, and they will most likely win one. But, they are not the meta breakers many are making them out to be.

Here are the lists that were top two in KC. I was running the scum and thought I had it in the bag after that first Torpedo shot.

Zuckuss is a boss and wrecks people, really surprised he hasn't seen more press. Congrats on coming back from that opener. If you want to see the match its on the twitch feed facesofderek.

**I see we have a ninja with us today**

just watching this finals match. 1:45, Zuckus 5 dice with target lock on echo and gets one 2 hits. that was unlucky break for scum.

I was so sure I had it at that point 5v3 and it was echos time to die! Dice games right : )

I realize this is small consolation, but I watched most of that game, and both of you guys played really well. It had its epic moments, from the Inquisitor's defensive whiff, to the Zuckster's offensive partial whiff. If I'm remembering correctly, that is. :)

It was really cool seeing you do well with what most would consider a non-standard list.

Well done.

I heard back from OP earlier in the week about having TOME output be machine and human readable; their response: " Unfortunately, there is still no movement on our end. I’ll be sure to let you know ASAP when there is!"

Questions:

  • You have three people listed as Top 4
  • Your counting skips Swiss #12
  • There's 3 people with 22 points. Out of curiosity, were there some double draws, in round 5 and 6 to secure a spot in the cut?

yeah, I was recreating the top 16 my hand without a cheat sheet. I’ve asked the TO to provide me a photo of the top16 bracket. I'll update it once I get the pic.

Two of those three went 4-0 then took two intentional draws to make the cut.

IDs breaks the "only lose one game and you're into the cut" math. The only reason #17 got in at 21 points is because #6 dropped after the cut. Otherwise he could have ID'ed to get into the cut, and then not made it!

[Edit]: I would like to see the full standings after Swiss to see if any 21 point players missed the cut. I wonder if anyone grabbed a picture of the standings after Swiss?

If you are friends with Tyler, he posted the results on his FB page. But yes, like Ark says above, 16th place was 21 points and 17th was 20. He also had the previous round standings posted, so you can compare the two.

I was really hoping you had it too. I made sure the videos all got highlighted on Twitch so that they will stay up. I may try to edit them for Youtube posting, but probably not. The way that last match played out really took the wind out of my sails and brought a downer to what otherwise was a pretty good near 18 hours of X-Wing.

Wow, 18 hours is just too long.

I fixed the swiss rankings for 1-17. Unfortunately, I do not know what 17 finished with.

The issue with 3 Top 4s is between Michael McFarlin and LeAnder Smith. I do not know who won the top 8 game here. The winner would have advanced to face Dom in the top 4.

LeAnder won that match.

I wish I had a chance to see how that Zuckuss build did. I keep wanting to give him a go, but keep forgetting.

Roque, were you talking about the actual playing or more the issues with events inside the match? I agree part of it was unfortunate but still a great game.

PhantomFO if youre interested I ran the list on the FACESOFDEREK twitch stream 3 or 4 times that night. And give Zuckuss a try, he really is that good.
