Han Solo or 2 X-wings

They both cost the same, so which is better? I am trying to decide if my squadron compliment for my fleet should be Luke + 2 X-Wings or Luke + Solo. Lets look at some pros and cons.

2 X-Wings

PROS:

An extra activation

More total dice

More total health

Two targets for the enemy instead of one

Bomber keyword

CONS:

Need a carrier with squadron commands for best results

No brace tokens

Han Solo

PROS:

Brace tokens

Ability to move during the ship phase before all other ships or squadrons

Rouge makes him independent from carriers

Grit lets him choose his battles

Luke's Escort will keep him alive longer

CONS:

Only one activation instead of two

Less total dice being rolled compared to two X-Wings

More points to the enemy if he dies

What do you think? I am torn currently between the two options. Can anyone that has used Han Solo offer any advice?

Being able to stay alive longer and choose when and where you fight is far far far better than two X-wings.

Unless you've got Jan in this equation...Han is the better bet any day of the week.

Yeah and the Han Solo double tap (end of round and then Han shoots first) with Grit is so nice!

That said if you are only taking those: two xwings might slow down a group or two for a turn or two. Han can only slow one group down.

Han also can't deploy until the end.

Han does have the hull and skills to act independently.

The key is independant. He wont enjoy being with Luke that much. I used Han and Tycho for a while. Really fustrating to face asthey tie up squandrons well, but run off really easiky.
