I really like that ship rules-wise, but aesthetically it's probably my least favourite ship so far. That's simply my opinion, no offense

Either way, I'm currently considering cutting my Ghost in pieces and putting it back together. Somthing shorter and thiner.

Since I'm no fan of it's special flight stand either, I'd like to shorten it so that I can use it on a regular flight stand (can be done now too, but that thing has a huge butt )

Anyone else who had similar ideas and maybe has already done the same?

Would really like some input, since I don't want to waste the ship, just to find out I made things worse

You can modify your ships as long as there's no confusion as to what they are.

Hey Surly, not disagreeing for the sake of it here, but no, it's hands down the best looking ship of this wave for me, but it took some time getting used to it I guess. I just thought I'd mention it - how about a different paint job, as a less sever alternative? Black with a spot colour like burned orange or yellow? Might help sleek down those *ahem* voluptuous lines a little bit?

Have they changed their policy about this? Afaik conversions or modifications aren't allowed at all in tournament play.

Yeah, thankfully they've changed their policy to something more sensible

I just checked the official torunament rules again, and tbh I can't find any effidence that they changed anything actually ...

Ship models may be painted as desired as long as the alterations are not offensive and do not adversely affect another player’s experience. The size and shape of a ship model cannot be modified in any way.

Seems to be the same no-conversion-policy as always. Am I missing something?

Edit: Argh ... that's the epic rules. Nevermind then, the normal rules have been softened up actually, xou guys where totally right.

Players may paint their ship models. They cannot modify a ship model in any way that would create confusion about which ship the model represents.

if you don't like the look of a ship and you're going to change the look of it significantly, why don't you just use a proxy of a ship that you do like the look of?

That's fine for casual play but not in a competitive setting, ffg wants their models seen at events that are broadcast not some airfix kit.

Not sure if this will change your mind about the look of the Ghost, but its design was inspired by B-17 Bombers from WWII.

While I personally love the design of the Ghost, it's just too big IMHO. It'd be nice if it stayed on its 80mmx80mm base like a good little ship instead of knocking over my Backstabber and making it a nightmare to figure out where it was supposed to be (though the TIE was on 3 stands not 2...)

The worst part is when two or more Ghosts come into play, especially when one model in particular thrives on bumping!

With the new rule (about being able to change a ship as long as it's clearly recognizable), what about using one of the Star Wars toy Ghosts lining toy aisles? It's small enough to fit on a base and it's $5. It's hard to say, "You didn't buy a real one!" when using it requires a dial, a base insert, the cards, and uou can always have the real thing sitting on your side of the table.

I don't think you could use the Micromachines one or whatever the little $5 one is.

I think there's still a rule that the model has to be on the peg at all times if possible. And technically using the little one would mean your model is off the peg.

Though personally I wouldn't object if I were playing you since the Ghost is prone to nudging models and making things a paint to move.
