No 600 pts Epic tomorrow... 100% off topic

By Hexdot, in X-Wing Off-Topic

One of the players is at bed, ill, and his team mate must work to solve an unspected trouble in his job. So delayed 15 days at least... No x wing tomorrow, we could play 300 pts Epic one vs one, but as we organiced our agenda to play during all the day we will play...

RED BARRICADES ( Advanced Squad Leader ), one of the scenarios. I am noy longer sad...

That stinks. I always like a big game.

Just be glad you have the opportunity at all. One of these days, I'll find a way to do larger than Epic and have the people with ships to do it (though at the rate I'm going, in a year I'll be able to field it). I envy you a healthy community, but I'll build it here one way or another... and some day... some great great day...

The best part of Epic Play is not to simply throw more ships on the table. It is about scenario play, going cinematic and simply have fun. No swiss, no.cuts, no need to show you are a Macho player. 200 pts are enought to play Epic.

I am.surprised to see so many people who only play 100 pts standard. Epic is more than "4 Brobots and 3 Contracted Scouts". Or it should be.

That stinks. I always like a big game.

It's not how big your game is .. it's how you play it .. isn't it? My wife always says something like that me. :)

Oh, don't get me wrong... I can probably field enough ships for 300 point battles for Rebel and Imperial. I've also got the Tantive IV and Transport for Rebels and the Raider for the Empire. I do not yet have the Gozanti, so I'm light on Epic options for both sides. I also will have limited squadrons in availability for really flying a larger battle. Ideally I would find another player within a half hour drive that was as excited about X-Wing as I am and wanted to play Epic / Cinematic as well. I think it is a great format for playing in public, because with that many ships, people cannot help but stop by and see what is going on. As I enjoy talking about the game as much as I do playing it, I don't mind showing someone what I'm doing and letting them sit down and fly my ships.

If I did that right now, I would be one weird looking nerdy dude with a whole lot of plastic ships playing with himself in public, which never ends well.
