Sorry if this is rehashing any previous efforts.
I was thinking about the poor little M3-A interceptor and its Heavy Scyk title that always gets used for cannons and never missiles or torps. Obviously the cheapest missile carrier in the game is the Z-95 so that option was DOA, but what about torpedoes? The Scyk is the cheapest torp option for scum, even with the title premium, at 16. That's the same as the TIE bomber, the cheapest option for imperials. Could a viable build be made for a torpedo Scyk alpha strike list? Maybe...
Of course the new hotness is Triple Toilet Seats, or Potty Time as I call it, the triple Jumpmaster torp build. With this option for scum you might ask why even bother with Scyks? Well, yeah, they are ugly, and overpriced for their stats, and the TIE/fo was basically a slap in the face, but have pity on this little bugly ship. Consider this:
Cartel Spacer (14)
Title (2)
Proton Torpedo (4)
Guidence Chimps (0!)
And you got 5 of these guys. That can hit pretty hard, I would say. And maybe change the torp out for one of them and throw on a Tracer missile. Of course, if you do that you might as well down grade that to a ps 3 Z-95 and one point tracer for 14 points. Now you have 6 points to...do...something. Maybe upgrade to Serrisu on one and use Plasma torps and deadeye for early shield stripping so all those crits can really hurt.
Also, maybe the missile Scyk isn't so bad, with Prockets. It is cheaper than A-wings with prockets, after all, and more red dice than the Z-95 can produce. Of course that would be a list that would love to get into R1 and that's probably not a good place for the little space bug.
Imperials:
TAP is probably the go to for Prockets now but the Bomber is still the main ordnance ship, and as said before the cheapest torp carrier.
Rebels: Y-wings, but no one really just loads them with torps.
So there you go. Can the Scyk learn to not suck and stick it to the schmucks?
