Many Bothans died to bring this to you

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Oh yeah that ISD-1 is now my background.

For the record: when the EU made "bothan" a species I was kind of surprised. I had imagined it to be like a title or something.

That's because the EU is the Reverse-Midas of the Star Wars universe. Everything it touches turns to muck.

(With the exception of KOTOR, 'Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast', the X-Wing and TIE Fighter series, the first two Battlefronts and 'Star Wars: Starfighter')

Someone remind me: why did we have to suffer through the prequels and all the animated stuff?

Because without them there would have been no Jar Jar!

This looks great. The tone of the movie is very on.

Whomever is playing Mon Mothma nailed it completely. And now has more lines in a trailer than she did in the entirety of ROTJ.

I'm also hoping this is better than Episode VII. I'm thinking so simply because JJ isn't involved. ::comedic drum roll::

Is this the same woman who played Mothma in Revenge of the Sith?

Actually...there are no bothans in sight...did they ALL die?

Maybe in new canon Bothans are regular people. Wow that would really screw things up!

Again bothan where involved with the second death star NOT the 1st

Where is Vader?

Holy ****, that looks awesome.

Seeing the ORIGINAL DESIGNS (stormtroopers, death star, ISD, Emperors Guard, rebel soldiers... even the rebel base on the moon of Yavin!) along with original characters, all in a modern story, without any messing around with the established aesthetic, is BONER CAUSING.

What's with that white light that the Royal Guard are guarding?

And didn't they already announce that Darth Vader is in the movie? I mean, he should be... he is a MAJOR figure in that period. My guess is that it is HIM kneeling before the Emperor.

Holy hell, that looks f'ing amazing. AMAZING. Cannot wait. CANNOT WAIT.

this. all of this.

No Vader.

ermmmmm

Who's at 1:18 then?

(no I dont know... it looks like it could be vader)

its not the moff you see earlier who's wearing a white cloak.....

I hope the ISB shows up

This is Rebel propaganda! MANY Bothans were "interrogated" for that one too!

Yes, apparently. It's Genevieve O'Reilly again!

Could it be possible that the guy in the white is Wulluffufufufuf Yularen?

Likes decent so far....

Not a big fan of the new switch to female warrior type leads in the new movies however, it just smacks of pc inclusiveness versus a valid plot point.

So what is the structure in between the shield pods on the ISD? Are we seeing a new model?

That is actually how the original ISD looked in Episode 4 A New Hope. The mid sensor tower is much higher than the ISD 2's in The Empire Strikes Back. You will also notice other differences in the look of the command tower where the bridge is at and there are axial turrets just before the start of the command decks.

That ISD 1 looks amazing! Hopefully we will have some kind of space battle in this one....hopefully.

So the question is who is the Imperial in the white cape. I guess it could be Tarkin but his uniform was more olive than this white/grey looking one that was more the look of the ISB. Also his officer medals on his chest are much different then what Tarkin had in Episode 4 with yellow medals. I'm hoping it is someone new.

As others have said the person who appears to be in a black cape with a hood bowing before the white cylinder with the Royal Guards flanking it....I guess it could be Vader but why would he have a hood as he has already got his armor and he never had a hood before. Maybe it's an inquisitor since Rebels have established them?

But for the sake of friendly argument, what sort of plot point would you require to allow them?

I'm all for the warrior women. Mara Jade was one of my favorite star wars characters, so if we can't have her then I'll take Rey and Juno Eclipse Jan Oars Jyn?

"Uh Oh" said the Battledroid, as this thread suddenly took a turn down the dark path of internet fanboy perversion.

Are you kidding, I love it!

Plot point would be something like a planet that was similar to Israel where females served in the military and would then make sense to have good military skills. I also wouldn't have a female be the 'toughest' in the room each time a fight broke out.. It stretches believability too much for me.

Nothing perverted about it. (Well, maybe when I was 14 haha)

I just enjoy a strong female character. Makes for a more well rounded story in my opinion.

This movie almost passes the Bechdel test from the teaser trailer alone.

Decent possibility Ben Mendelsohn's character is a slightly younger or re-envisioned Tarkin, but I doubt it... but if he is a new commander, then decent chance we could see him in Armada I suppose, so either way a win in my book... btw, Ben happens to be one of my favorite actors right now, see "Animal Kingdom" (2010) , although his roles in American films tend to be a little more minor, tamed, meh, see "The Dark Night", there are some good ones, see "The place beyond the pines" ...so I'm glad he's involved... just hope it goes well...

I don't care I just want a good Star Wars movie so if it's a lead by a female to achieve the best movie that we can see, then roll with it.

How about we flip a coin each time a new warrior is created. By that standard, Star Wars is very unbeliveable. Out of all the warriors in the movie, only one was a female? Of all the force users, none were female until Empire. A rebellion, short on man power, and they only seem to be worried the man part?
