4-LOM Control

By yoji, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ive started to like this list alot, although it need more playtesting against bigger ship to see if its able to give them a match.

4-LOM CONTROL

100 points

PILOTS

4-LOM (39)
G-1A Starfighter (27), Push the Limit (3), Zuckuss (1), Advanced Sensors (3), Mist Hunter (0), Engine Upgrade (4), Tractor beam (1)

Contracted Scout (35)
JumpMaster 5000 (25), Extra Munitions (2), Proton Torpedoes (4), Boba Fett (1), R4 Agromech (2), Deadeye (1), Guidance Chips (0)

Torkhil Mux (26)
HWK-290 (19), Ion Cannon Turret (5), “Gonk” (2)

Notable mentions are mostly on how you would build Torkhil.

Ion, TLT

"Gonk", Tactician, Intelligence Agent

to name a few.

What i think works well with this list is that its able to control the opponents biggest threat with the use of Torkhil+Tractor beam (When they are small ships). 4-LOM can arc dodge more then you would think with his low PS, beeing able to bump ships aswell. And he can also keep handing out stress, using zuckuss if he's not used PTL.

anyone got any inputs?

I think you're putting way too many points into 4LOM. For my money he wants as little as possible loaded onto him - Crack Shot or VI/Adaptability if you need him to increase his PS to shoot before the rest of the list, Zuckuss, and the title. 30 points, and he should be focus fired on early because the TB is scary, and you won't be able to keep him alive if that happens. Arcdodging at PS7 is relatively low-value, sadly.

I mean, you're 3 points off affording an extra z if you stip 4LOM right down.

I recently played someone using 4-lom and they were mainly using the red manoeuvres with outlaw tech.

that seemed to work well. I don't think the mist hunter dial is good enough to warrant PTL even with 4-Loms power as it seems there are a lot of time I've seen a 4lom need a red manoeuvre.

I've personally not flown it yet but this is just an observation for a few games against it

I noticed that you were able to arc dodge/bump people more often then not during the games ive played different alteration of the list (just modifying Torkhil). The fact that he was able to pass 1 stress of each round exept 1 i think, made him able to choose between his manuevers without caring if it would be red. Often you would do 2 actions, then reveal a green manuever and then using Zuckuss.

It is not meant to be a groundbreaking list. But i think it could do quite well at local events etc.

That's my kinda 4-LOM! Its the EXACT build I plan to use whenever I get around to buying the mist hunter....

I haven't put much thought into what I'd run alongside him though...
