Compared to The prequels Ric Olie. (HAH don't bother pretending you rememeber him) and OT's Wedge (Generic wingman in first film, appears in other two with as many lines WHICH ITSELF MAKES HIM BADASS).

I hope they get Denis Lawson on-board for Episode 8, and have Wedge come out of retirement to help the Resistance after the destruction of Hosnian Prime. It would be awesome to have Wedge and Poe flying around destroying stuff.

Of course, Poe act as an intelligence agent, and as wing leader because Leia (or the resistance leaders) ask him to. But Bond also act as spy because the MI6 ask him to.

I don't think you understand poe is princess leia he fills the exact same role Carrie did in a new hope, he is a gender swapped copy so he has via osmosis gained her character traits.
