Anyone got a good deck which builds around "To the Sea, to the Sea!"?

By Flrbb, in Strategy and deck-building

As the title said; Searching for a deck which contains "To the Sea, to the Sea!", not because there was some space left but because it comes to a good use.

I am facinated from the concept of the new attachment, but I cannot think of a deck which runs nice and smooth. My thought so far were:

- as most interessting allies are Lore I want to include Lore hero(es)

- synergy with Narya seems nice

- also, Cirdan seems better to fit than Gandalf

- probably only two colors to keep it simple

I've put cards together but the different decks were all "kind of overload with different cool stuff" but "To the Sea, to the Sea!" did not came to an use. Has anyone allready build a deck which tends fit my needs?! :D

I haven't made it that far yet in my deck building experiments, but if you go to RingsDB.com, go to decklists, and do a search including that as a card in the deck, I'm sure you'll find several.

I am not familar with that page. Thanks for pointing out.

Still, no deck really sprung to my eyes...

I don't have a deck list for you, but it can be put to good use in a Spirit/Lore Erestor deck--primarily to help you get out Galdor of the Havens and Gildor once you draw them.

But I know what you mean. To the Sea, To the Sea isn't as useful as I thought it would be, primarily because many of the staple Noldor allies are fairly inexpensive anyway, and you've got other things you'd like to do with those cards.

It runs pretty decently in my fellowship: http://ringsdb.com/fellowship/view/31

it allows me to play Gildor, Galdor, Galadriel and Lindir far more easily and because they are all high cost this is pretty handy.

Galdor triggers off it so you can use it instead of Arwens ability and still draw a card from Galdor.

Playing Galadriel cheaper is amazing as it keeps more essential leadership resources on Elrohir.

Gildor can be reduced to just 1 or 2 cost which is amazing.

Lindir is the best target because you can discard your last 2 cards to play him for 1 and draw 3 cards while you are at it!

Even just reducing the cost of a Mithlond Sea Watcher or Sailor of Lune can be fantastic as that saved resource can be used to play a weapon attachment the same turn or more importantly can be saved to play something like feint or test of will.

It isnt a key card of the decks by any means but definitely isn't just included for the sake of it, it combos really well with a few cards and allows many of the unique allies to be played much faster and earlier in games in which it sees play.

The discard cost is usually not a big deal with how often elven light is returned to hand as well as the fantastic card draw thanks to elven light. Dwarven tomb and Lords of the Eldar also help with the discard cost.

Thanks to you all for your input

I like To the Sea, to the Sea! a lot. I use it like the posters above to play my high cost Noldor allies as quickly as possible. The goal of my deck (http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/803/ever-present-lords-of-the-eldar-2.0) is to be able to play Lords of the Eldar twice per turn by round 6. It is not a good solo deck though, you will have to rely on someone else for encounter card cancelation and healing.
