Edge of the Empire Traps?

By WeaponsFree, in Game Masters

Hey I was wondering if any of the books have a list of "Dungeon-esque" traps? Having the characters raid a Bounty Hunters hideout and I want it to be rigged with all sorts of nasty traps. I have players that feel their abilities are not being addressed in skill checks/etc. Want to include some mechanical, some tech, some a mix of the two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Fly Casual, starting at pg 82, covers planning a heist or break in. It offers a few trap and detection obsticles. From there you should be able to come up with a GM's 'bag 'o tricks' to throw at your players.

I used the Fly Casual traps to great effect. The same laser gates that separated darth maul and obi wan in Episode 1 took some wounds off one of my players sneaking in an imperial listening post, and the pressure plates made them very paranoid from there on out. There's a lot of stuff you can throw at them, for a bounty hunter hideout poison darts coming from the wall indiana jones style would be great.

Take inspiration from the Ewoks:

"As you sneak down the hall, you notice a small crate of Thermal Detonators, at least 20 of them. Worth tens of thousands of credits on the black market, or capable of massive damage if you yourself would try to use them..."

If they try to take them, have ray shields trap them as soon as they touch the crate.

Take inspiration from the Citadel arc in Clone Wars:

"As you crawl through the vent shaft, you see a door block of the path in front of you. Another opens closer to you, and you narrowly avoid being decapitated by the third!"

I have never actually played D&D, but if you have published adventures for that, I am sure that you could find great inspiration for dungeon crawls.

The Dead Road modular encounter in the back of Lords of Nal Hutta describes some traps and trials players would encounter inside an ancient Hutt treasure complex. That would be useful for you.

Great.

You got the same idea as me for a while :D

As i never played this encounter

here are some ideas i made up:

- Pressure plate activated auto-laser-turrets

- A collapsing bridge (it was a cave hideout)

- A slicer (main System) encounter with advanced slicing house rule ( http://www.ritter-klaus.de/2014/02/advanced-slicing-house-rules-for-the-edge-of-the-empire-rpg/)

- toxic needle at the entrance (finger-printer)

I cant find the document at the moment. Sorry. This is all i can remember :D

How about a fully armed and operational battle station?

Good ol' Fly Casual, did a lot of things
