Ghost "Special Firing Arc" Question

By Darth Sabre, in X-Wing Rules Questions

The Phantom title card reads:

While you are docked, the Ghost can perform primary weapon attacks from its special firing arc, and, at the end of the Combat phase, it may perform an additional attack with an equipped [Turret Weapon] . If it performs this attack, it cannot attack again this round.

What exactly is the Ghost's special firing arc, as referenced on the Phantom Title card? Thank you!

The rear arc of the Ghost with the Torpedo symbol. It isn't an Auxiliary Arc, but a Special Arc, with some different rules. Essentially, you can only shoot Torpedoes out of it unless you have the titles.

Also worth to note that until FFG says otherwise, the special firing arc is a firing arc in every sense of the word, this affects things such as autothrusters, etc.

I know it is written this way but I don't think they meant it to work this way for the vcx.

Take a look at any of the vcx pilots and think about Zeb crew. If you don't have a turret or title, the rear arc would still count for "not considered touching" at start of combat even though you can't fire at them. They can fire at you. This is a very negative effect from a positive crew member that I believe is unintentional in this case.

He costs 1 point and otherwise has very few downsides for his considerable benefits.

How about Zeb crew + ABT out the rear arc?

How about Zeb crew + ABT out the rear arc?

Yes, the rear arc triggers Zeb crew's ability.

Regardless of whether you have a turret which can shoot there, so be careful if you've not got a docked Phantom and are running Zeb crew.

It's really no different than how with Omega Leader the HLC doesn't have to change <crits> into <hits>
