And now we find out that Bib Fortuna isn't even close to being the ugliest Twi'lek around...

Egads!

Nope, the Glasses aren't helping.

There's a blast from the past... I remember that movie.

Complete with the longest pointless fight scene in film history.

And here I thought Matrix Reloaded had that one securely tied down.

For me to make such a comparison, I'd have to be willing to subject myself to a Matrix movie beyond the underwhelming first one.

I am not willing to do so. ;)

The movie is They Live, and...

...one protagonist wants the other protagonist to put on the special sunglasses, the other protagonist refuses on the principle of "I donwanna", and so they proceed to take up a significant chunk of the movie's run time beating the snot out of each other over this disagreement of principles.

The big one definitely looks like an Assault Frigate Mark I to me. Possibly bigger though

Hey that fight scene wasn't pointless. They were fighting over him putting on the glasses and seeing the Truth! He couldn't handle the Truth!! So he needed a butt kicking first!

Plus when you have one of the greatest wrestlers of all time how are you NOT going to have a long brawl?

(It was supposed to be cut down, but Carpenter enjoyed the fight so much, they decided to leave the whole thing in)

Yeah, I've read that.

I just shouldn't be able to fit in a Lord of the Rings Extended Cut marathon during a single fight scene. ;)

Yeah dawg!

All I see is a random series of letters, .jpg.

Bah! Stupid twitter! Hang on. . . .

EDIT - better?

Same thing.

Some of the posts in the two big image threads are coming through the same way.

Bah! Okay, screw you Twitter!

Both posts look fine.

Well, quite entertaining, I must say. Didn't fall asleep, despite the hour.

Odd, loaded just fine this morning.

Browser must have been too tired.

So, we all liked it. Without too many spoilers, it has a rather dark tone and there is lots of action. It looks and feels great - original Star Wars, baby! Plot and characters are OK, but none really gripped me. Acting is fine, though, for the most part. I will see it on the big screen again for sure.

I made a total spoiler topic earlier. If you wanna discuss more.

Reading a lot of the reviews makes me wonder if it's just become too unbearably uncool to say anything nice about a Star Wars movie..

So what, I'm not spoilerly enough for you!

While I dont put a lot of stock in review aggregate engines, Rotten Tomatoes shows it at 85 percent with a 77 percent of the Top Critics. Sounds like a lot of nice things being said.

No, the movie has some problems, but the second half is great, don´t worry, enjoy the show and decide for your self.

My brevity obscured my meaning.

I was just snarking a bit about how so many of the reviews I've come across have read like carbon-copies of the problems that critics had with TFA.

Almost as if they just did some copy-pasting and find-replacing, and didn't bother watching the newer movie, just going for cheap hipster cred.

Glad the wait is over. I've got a couple things I'd like said, tho. Does anyone know how to make a spoiler tag? 'cuz otherwise I'm going to put the 'spoiler' back in 'spoilerrific' :)

BTW, the plot and acting are garbage

That's just like, your opinion, man.
