My thoughts exactly which is why I went with agent of Vader. And honestly... I am more interested in the Imperial officer in the white uni lol. By the rank, he's an Admiral... Thrawn possibly? My first thought was Tarkin, but the hair is way off... and if they went to that much trouble finding a Mon Mothma look-alike, I don't see why they wouldn't get a Tarkin one as well.

I seem to remember some interview saying they would keep Luke's love interest as a Jade/Lumiya type character. Not a Rebel leader.

To be honest the bearded guy looks more like he could be a love interest for Jyn. It may very well be that characters from this movie will be related to TFA characters, but its way too early to tell.

He's wearing the same uniform that Wullf Yularen was wearing in Star Wars, and he was in Imperial Intelligence. So stands to reason the bad guy hunting the rebels would also be from Imperial Intelligence and uniformed similarly.

Yeah, that doesn't really help, he's no Chiss, so now there are multiple blue, red-eyed species.

Rebels would be totally redeemed in my book if they canonized Thrawn and the Assault Gunboat. No need to created a new TIE, just use the Gunboat or the Avenger for the big baddies.

I'm curious about the weird X-shaped things mounted on top of the ISD/VSDs. Where did they come from? Also, the tan stormtroopers actually look really close to the old Swamp Troopers from Jedi Outcast. Would be nice if they were used on a swamp planet, but not holding my breath.

I think people are massively over-analysing and speculating about the Imperial Uniform not-Jan is wearing. She obviously stunned someone and took their uniform to infiltrate something, complete with full-face helmet, which she discards ASAP because we can't have a film where we hide the main characters face for more than 15 seconds.

Also regarding links to the other films, I would actually really prefer it if there were NO links to any of the other films, apart from sharing a few characters like Mothma, Wedge and so on. None of this "Oh, it turns out that X is the daughter of Y or the third cousin twice removed of Z". Just a story set in the same universe. The classic universe. With the real X-Wings.
