Looks almost like a Purge Trooper to me. They appear in Star Wars: Uprising which is set post DSII destruction however. Purge Troopers seem to be a canon replacement for the Dark Troopers. Though are people, rather than Droids.

Can't wait for the rest of the trailer.

Given this is set in the time of the Empire, I believe I'll enjoy this movie far more than the new trilogy.

In any event, I see some family similarities between this troopers helmet and the Phase 2 Clonetrooper helmets - another half step between the original Clonetrooper armor and the Stormtrooper armor of Rebels and the original trilogy. Which is pretty cool.

FFG has already stated that the next ships will be based on SW:Rebels and Rogue One, and that they (FFG) knew far more about Rogue One earlier this year than they did for TFA at the same point in it's release schedule.

I don't think they stated the next wave will be Rogue One, only that Rogue One content is coming and that they had more info for it.

Anyone notice this? You can only make it out in the 4k version and it's covered by smoke most of the time.
