Those gold lasers gotta be a 3 attack IMO.
Mandalorian Fang Fighter
Upgrade cards:
Title- Protector: When attacking, if any fellow protectors are within range one of this ship, you may role 1 extra attack die.
Well... 1 extra dice for only 1 ally near you... I found it a little bit too good and you will play your fangs by squad of two instead of swarm...
I think we can look on the Boba skill for the swarm-flavor :
-
Title - Protector (1pt), fang-fighter only :
When attacking, you may reroll 1 of your dice for each friendly ship with the Protector upgrade card at range 1.
I'd rather have a real 3-dice ace for scum. It's hard to say from the episode whether they had firepower that significantly exceeded an A-wing.

I was leaning toward 3 as well but we just don't know exactly how strong their lasers are....

I'll admit. I like this title better then my idea. It's a bit more balance.
I think the 2/3/2/2 line would be good.
With Evade, Focus, Barrel Roll, Torpedo.
The dial would be same as A-Wings except add a white 2-S and red 3 K...so it can get jammed but can turn sharp.
15 pts - Protector Trainee 1PS
18 pts - Protecctor Veteran 4PS

Interesting... I's make it a 3 and 5 PS for the generics to go along with the rest of the Scum ships.. also not every ship needs a title.
The dial is alright though white s loops could be a bit much but with a two dice primary they aren't able to exploit it as much as others could. However I think Focus, Evade, Barrel Roll and TL are all the actions they need, giving them boosts and thrusters is way overkill.
For the rest of the dial I think speed one banks and turns are good, all green maybe? all the usual speed twos and threes a 4k and straight but no speed five
The white s-loops for every pilot seems a bit much. I suggested earlier that it could be Fenn Rau's ability, but not something for every pilot. It could also add a new torpedo to the game. Maybe a torpedo version of the proton rocket. A cheap, low attack torpedo that uses focus.

Also.. Upping the attack to three means upping the cost. And right now Scum is overflowing with high cost elite three dice ships but it's only budget options are the Headhunter and the Scyk.... And even the Scyk starts getting pretty pricey once you stick required upgrades on it. Making Attack 2 let's them keep it cheap and have it fill a TAP or FO like role while also preventing it from stepping on the Viper's toes once they get around to fixing it.
I think that the Fang Fighter should also be available to the Empire as a cross factional ship. It has appeared once in canon and it was working for the Empire. Scum and Rebels share several ships, while Scum and Empire share only 1, and it is rarely if ever used by Empire. It would be cool to have these in an Empire list too!

Good example how FFG could give us some "for hire" title cards for Scum. The Fang could be the first to have a title upgrade that allows you to fly with Empire OR Rebels with some limitation. Maybe a high squad cost like 6+ because of the mercenary implications: It'll cost ya.I think that the Fang Fighter should also be available to the Empire as a cross factional ship. That would be pretty neat. It's also fitting since they go from being hired by the Empire to "working" with the Phoenix Rebels in Rebels. Maybe it could be a Scum only title instead of a ship limited one.

I think that your idea for a title would do better as a modification, like the Phantoms advanced cloaking. Still not quiet sure about white talon rolls, but it would give Fangs a unique edge.

Agreed. The Fang's great but it still needs to be balanced

I agree that the Fang Fighter as listed here is not balanced at all. First, the dial is way to good and not indicative of what we saw in the episode. They were very maneuverable (able to out maneuver the awings they faced) but I don't feel all green speed 1 is a good idea at all. They were moving fast so I almost feel they should have none or at least a red 1 straight, with with turns and banks. AlsYre T-roll,if they even get one(I do like that idea) should be red as usual. Where their dial should be unique is that they should be the first ship with a "back up" maneuver. In the show, Fenn Rau "hit the brakes" to slow down enough to get the Awing to shoot past him. A red 2 or 3 "reverse" maneuver would be cool. Not to mention a game that is seriously flawed (balance wise) but they use "reverse maneuvers" in Star Trek Attack Wing and it is interesting(the few times I've played)Second, that title is kinda ridiculous for 0 points. There is literally no reason to take it. Auto includes are rarely (if ever) good for the game, especially out of the expansion and not in a "fix" of some kind. If there were points involved(squad point cost) or other titles (opportunity cost) then it wouldn't be an auto include and that's better. Without these "cost factors" it would definitely be better as a modification. Third, the stat line is OK, but it would have to be priced to reflect it. I can't remember the exact number of ships on each side, but I think a good way to figure an approximate stat line and point cost would be to rewatch the episode. Count the number of awings and the number of Fangs. Then determine how the awings were likely kitted out. Then cost the Fangs accordingly, factoring in the fact that the Fangs beat them pretty handily, and the dial, actions, and abilities you want the Fang to have. It should give you a pretty decent baseline to start from. I might just do this actually.Agreed. The Fang's great but it still needs to be balancedI think either attack three or white sloops/t-rolls. Regarding the title, it was supposed to be auto-include. That was the entire point.
Honestly, please make it have 3 attack die. Idk about a reverse manuever. At most a red standstill. It'd be cool for it to have T turns and S turns, even if both are red. That is just... sick.
Fenn Rau could have am ability that mimics the B wing pilots. In other words, thrives off stress. Like "When YOU Execute A Red MANUEVER Gain A Target lock."
Seeing how quick they toasted the As, how about the title performing a negative agility di, EI outmaneuver/wedge, on any ship with 3+ agility? That way you could keep the attack at 2.

Umm... why Jodo Kast, other then the fact that there are no other named Fang pilots. Just asking since he isn't a true Mandalorian. Also, I still think this ship need barrel roll.
