Rebel Anti Clon?

By TheEasternKing, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Seems like some sound counters to the "Demolisher" & Raider fleet...but then how does it do against the other fleets you migh run into a store event or regional?

Does focusing so much on the Clone5 type fleet up you up to more risk with all the other goodness out there?

The list does well against ship heavy fleets no matter the composition - ISD's, Glads, MC80's, AF's. However i haven't tested it against Rhymerballs, and would worry about the threat range posed by the bombers. Speed is the usual defence against other squadrons.

Fair enough. I wish we we're not being driven to play "these" fleets to counter "those" fleets so much, but who knows? Maybe I'll these options after I give them a shot!

Well Personally i consider myself somewhat of an expert on this topic, and i think this Fleet would do well against clonisher because it targets its Weaknesses well. That said Clonisher itself should still get the first shot and would try to kill a corvette (perferible unactivated) to give the Clonisher list last activation.there is one major weakness this fleet has against my 5 ship list that is potentiality disastrous for you, the Deployment. you only have 6 Deployments (the same as My list) which means Clonisher will be placed last and can be placed in a position to destroy the Corvettes and avoid the Mc30s

Aye there is always going to be an element of risk, and it would make it a tense, exciting game.

I think with an Evade, and Redirect, you would be needing an exceptional roll on 2red/4black to take a CR90 out in one go, you need 8 damage after the reroll of one dice, doable but not great odds.

Like most games, this would all be about deployment, and then execution of maneuvering, which would mean a lot of practice.

:P

With a reroll and screed it usually gets 8 damage, in my experience I have yet to fail to kill a corvette in a single round of shooting

you clearly have not played against clonisher :P

Sorry Clon, I should have been clearer, I know you will get the 8 damage, I meant after the evade has made you reroll a hit/crit, odds are you will get 1 damage, which drops you to seven, even still it's still at risk to a ram kill.
