A novel way to get out of the Brig

By JerusalemJones, in Battlestar Galactica

Last night we were playing a game, and both of our cylon players revealed before the second jump. We were playing a strange game with two Military, two political and one pilot -- and the pilot and non-president political were the cylons. I was Admiral, and got brigged by the cylon card, so for my action I gave the President and EO -- who then asked me "How badly do you want to get out of the Brig?"

Pretty badly, as the cylons were hitting us hard all game. So I let the president "Execute Prisoner," and choose a Pilot character. The humans still lost the game, but because we ran out of fuel when we made our next to last jump. It was one of our ugliest games (for the humans, that is), but it was a funny way to get out of the Brig.

It really irks me that a player can use their own execution to their advantage. I wish the mechanic wasn't like that.

Sounds like the Cylon way of thinking to me. Isn't that exactly what Athena did at the algae planet?

not exactly. i dont want to spoil anything now :)

its ok i guess.. you could even use a yellow (name ... measure) card to prevent the moral decrease and only lose some handcards..

Actually, I misquoted our president. He actually said "How attached are you to your hand?"

Yeah, it was totally cheesey, but really was about our only option. We lost at 0 fuel, but food and morale were both at 2 and Population was at 1, so we were likely to lose this game anyway. Rough riding the whole time.

Or, since it was done via XOing the president, their other action could be to play an Inspirational Speech. for best results, combine Preventative Policy and a speech. :)

Actually what I did was activate the presidents office to draw a card 3 times, then played the execute prisoner I had in my hand. I was really hoping for a presidential pardon.

At one point on New Caprica, I seriously considered executing myself to get out of the Brig. The card just says 'choose a character in the Brig...'
