UNOFFICIAL X-Wing Huge Ship FAQ

I decided to create this because huge ships and epic play get so little attention in the official FAQ, I wanted a single resource that people could look to for most of those questions (without having to wait for an official e-mail response). I'd like input on additional questions and clarifications to include, and opinions on the ones without references. Keep in mind that anything marked with @ has already been submitted to FFG for an answer, and I'll post those responses here (and link to them from the document). I expect that several of them will be ruled differently than currently written.

I would argue that the word still on Reactor Cowl Rupture means it's not introducing a new negative effect, so it's still overridden by Shield Technician. Do you have a source on that one?

Good catch, I based it on the "must" and the ruling of Damage Engine vs R2 Astromech, but that ruling could (easily) be argued to only apply only to maneuvers. I'll submit the question to FFG.

Here is an additional question:

Critical card "Weapon damaged" on a section of a huge ship equipped with ordnance tubes and missiles or torpedoes. When this critical card is dealt, does it have any effect if the section hit only have missile or torpedoes equipped?

Read as written: no.

Read as intended: hard to say, because ordnance tubes did not exist when the Raider's damage deck was created.

I have had a myriad of reactions when this situation occured, so while it may appear more or less obvious depending on one's approach, it is a question that I have been asked frequently.

Thanks for doing this!

Interesting! I'd have to go with no effect.

What's more interesting is if you (discard/temporarily disable/have Boba Fett steal) your Ordnance Tubes mod. It doesn't make you un-equip your ordnance cards immediately, but you would have to discard them if you wanted to use them...

I agree that the RAW is clear, and that the RAI is debatable (personally I think it's probably the same as RAW), I submitted this to FFG.

I think this one is solid by RAW, so I went ahead and added it under Ordnance Tubes. It also got me thinking about Boba Fett and huge ships with multiple ship cards, can he discard a card from either section, or only the one targeted by the attack? (I submitted this to FFG as well.)

The same line of questionning could be applied to Chewbacca (crew). Can he be used on either section of the ship or only on the section of the ship to which he is assigned?

I`m guessing he can be used on both sections, like WED-15. Teams and crew generally effects the whole ship, However, R2-D2 (crew) only works on the section he is on, though I wonder if this is because you originally had to loose all your shields on both sections before you could use him.

It is indeed quite possible that R2-D2(crew) is the exception instead of the rule (for balance purposes, otherwise he is pretty useless on a huge).

Has this ever been updated? A lot of new cards and potential craziness. New Han for example, would trash a lot of scenarios. Has this been officially dealt with by FFG?
