The title tells you the relevant parts. VSDs and Imperial/Rebel squadron packs are deeply discounted (40% or so, as it appears).

They're cleaning out the poor sellers. Just look for the Spring Cleaning Sale items.

I like to buy most of my Armada stuff from my FLGS, but every now and then if the deal is sweet enough I'll pick up some stuff online. I can't justify the shipping costs for just a single Rebel squadron pack (...or two?), but it is a decent deal for the clearance items/spring cleaning sale anyways, particularly if you can get the total up to $99 or more (as many things are on sale) for the free shipping. It would be a great time to pick up some Armada stuff and buy Rebellion as well, if you were interested.

But you do need Motti for a lot of Imperial builds and they still are great carriers.

Well.... Yes. Motti is nice.

Actually the VSD is like a super cash cow for FFG: It comes with Flight Controllers too and one other important card that you can't get easily elsewhere.

But everytime I've seen a VSD used for a carrier, it has died a horrific death. Ackbar and ISDs and MC80s are just outputting a lot of damage with a lot of accuracies.

I've seen VSDs used well in wave two (usually as upgrade-light as possible, or upgrade-minimal carriers) and VSD-Is certainly can still pull some weight. They just need to be used a lot more carefully than back in wave one. Ackbar took the wind out of their sails hard.

VSD 1 carrier builds are fun to play...more so when they have a very good anti-squadron ball backing them up...you can basically shut down the Jan Sex Swing with a VSD's carrier group if you do it right.

However I do feel odd...the VSD was NEVER-EVER-EVER a carrier. In fact it was a dedicated anti-ship vessel...not some carrier most of us are turning it into .

... Probably because we don't have Unlimited Resources, and we are - quite rightly - repurposing a vessel for what it is capable of, rather than what it was designed to do

Still love my VSDs, there are so many fun ways to outfit them.

But large ships definitely hard counter them.

New website launch sale for them again. Squadrons and VSD's arent quite as deeply discounted, but the whole Armada line is 35% off. (And no I don't think that's a sign of poor sales....they've got a HUGE number of sale items, half in the 60-70% off range. So I think Armada's doing quite well if they're not fire sale-ing it.
