Dengar in his Punishing Jumpmaster...job well done, FFG

By Hexdot, in X-Wing

I simply want to say that Dengar is a very good adition to the game. A charismatic villain, the title + PS 9 + Dengar's EPT is a good combo. A superb tool in Scum's arsenal, and a little maneuverable ship. Perhaps a little too small, but x wing is definitely a better game after this release.

Play as you want, of course, but if you are a 3 U Boote fan, try Dengar flying casual. Dengar plus Zuckuss as crewmember is... Thumbs up.

Im happy to hear this. I really cannot wait to try him out when I eventually get one

Yeah, I hope to fly him this weekend.

I think the Jumpmaster is one of the ships where all pilots are viable for competitive play. Well done

Dengar is my favorite pilot from the wave. Zuckuss is my favorite crew from the wave (Even though Boba is amazingly fun!)

Put them both together and it's like a Peanut Butter and Banana sandwich!

I am a big fan of OTG ships. I like the "punky" scum and Large ships with a charismatic bounty hunter at the controls. And Dengar is a strong pilot by many reasons. Of course PS 9 and 360 degree. His skill is extremely good but not OP. A Jouster killer. "No, little boy, you must learn to fly. If you try to joust with me...dakadaka".

Astromech, crewmate, torps, ilicit slot... Many, many ways to equip him. Few autoincludes. I own two Jumpmasters and will not buy a third because, 30 euros, it is quite small. Perhaps after summer, I will expend the money buying more Armada stuff. Jumpmaster 30 euros... Y666 40 euros...quite expensive Jumpmaster, a small Large based ship. Own two each, and the size is...not in the same league.

If you play Scum, you can obtain so much pleasure playing with him that it is a must buy. I was very excited about G1 Starfighter but I was wrong. Dengar is much more interesting. In my experience.of course.

Peanut Butter and Banana sandwich??? Um what?!?!?!!!!

I'd concur. The only one I'm not quite sold on is Manaroo, not because she's not good, but because she doesn't quite fit into the scum playstyle for me - she;s a support ship in a faction that really wants its ships to all play aggressively. Dengar is great as a high-PS ace, Tel is great as a tank, and the Scout is great as a german WW2 submarine.

Zuckuss as a crew member is thumbs up on everything

Don't let green dice stand between you and a fun game

Charismatic?! The man has toilet paper on his head!!!

That being said, I concur that this is a great addition to the game.

Peanut Butter and Banana sandwich??? Um what?!?!?!!!!

That would be The Elvis Presley or The Food That Killed Elvis™.

Fry that bad boy. FRY IT. In a full pound of rich, creamery butter.

I am theorycrafting a team using all the ESB bounty hunters. Two hundred points is probably the bare minimum here. Maybe something like this:

Zuckuss (28)
Crack Shot (1)
4-LOM (1)
Tractor Beam (1)
Mist Hunter (0)
Dengar (33)
Predator (3)
Punishing One (12)
Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Adaptability (0)
Bossk (35)
Calculation (1)
Greedo (1)
IG-88B (36)
Adaptability (0)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Autothrusters (2)
Total: 200
What sort of Rebel squad would make for a fun, fluffy, and competitive opponent?

This night Dengar will enter your dreams and menace you with his dirty toilet paper...jajaja.

Dengar a good villain, EU. As a charismatic villain, he is quite...ejem.

As one friend says the head of IG88 is a sexual toy... Villains and their look

Point of order: Greedo was very definitely NOT an ESB bounty hunter...

Greedo was dead in the mos Eisley Cantina by the time ESB hit. This is not fluffy and i am offended.

Very True. I just like him on Bossk. Especially when Bossk gets to shoot last. "Let me turn that crit into two hits. Now let's flip one of those face-up anyway."

Edit- and in the "Extra Special Edition" George changed Han's blaster to be set on stun anyway.

Edit 2- Lucas used CGI to change Han's line to the bartender from "Sorry about the mess." to "Give him a sundae when he wakes up. Have a pleasant day!"

I know right, personally I like Peanut Butter, Mayonnaise, and Banana sandwich.

(I have really enjoyed Dengar in the few games I have had the pleasure of flying him in.)

;)

But Manaroo can be very dirty. For example many people overread that Manaroo can also give away RED target lock tokens, making for example FCS, Omega Leader and Tie-advanced useless or less dangerous (especially when Vessery will join soon).

I've theorycrafted some Dengar builds and the one that makes the most sense to me is:

Dengar

Wired

Zuckuss crew

R5-P8

Inertial Dampeners

PO title

51 points

You can spam stress with Wired/Zuckuss because of your white S-loop but it also combos very well with Dengar's ability. All at minimal cost for upgrades. R5-P8 helps you deal with Soontir/Jake.

The main disadvantage is that you lack any repositioning once you have 5 million stress, but Dengar's ability, Wired, and R5-P8 on a budget Dengar price means you almost want to get shot at (unless it's a swarm).

I am surprised to see all the Dengar love. I have always thought he was the lamest of the bounty hunter party. Mean lizard guy, check. Spindly robot, check. Weird bug guy with a C3PO with a bug head, check. Guy with a cod piece and toilet paper head wrap... What?

But now, it's all different. Dengar gets an almost reasonably priced mini for Imp Assault, then he comes in as the second Scum ace. Maybe he is cool.

I always liked him. Maybe it was because his gun was a modified German MG. I thought he was pretty cool. I like him in The Clone Wars, too.

I get your point and agree that scum needs to be scum ;)

Manaroo gives away all target lock tokens, blue or red. Not sure what you meant by overread? The wording is clear.

He is hella ugly though. with those toilet paper wrap.

Not totally on topic but what do you all think of this list?

Scum Fett with sensor jammer, Dengar crew, Eu, and VI.

2 pirates

1 TLT y-wing.

Sorry I meant "overlook"
