Wampa vs Evade Tokens

By ElitePilot, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I know that wampa can cancel the dice results but i wanted to double check that it includes the evade tokens as well.

Evade tokens add a dice result, which Wampa then cancels (along with all other results).

Granted if he didn't cancel the evade result added by the evade token (which he does), it's not like anything would change.

Thank you for the response.

It is important to note that wampa doesn't cancel and do his shenanigans until the compare dice result which is after defense modification step. So if he rolls hit and crit vs a shield less ship, he waits to see what the defense roll looks like before deciding to cancel.

So theoretically if the defender had rolled two eyeballs, hey might spend the focus token even if everything gets canceled because that's better damage for them.

Wampa doesn't care about any Evade tokens. In fact he LOVES to see Evade tokens spent to boost a defense roll because even if all of his limited attack dice would get cancelled if he has a [kaboom] he can just do it himself and deal the target a damage card.

Wampa is a real bully in the sense that is almost like an attack modification after Defense in completely done so you have perfect information when you choose to use it.

Going to get all of your attack dice cancelled anyway and miss? Use the ability.

Going up against a ship with a lot of Shields but not so much hull? Use the ability.

Have the target's defense come up good enough that it could cancel all but one of your dice? Use the ability unless you're going to be dealing a face-up card instead.

Have the target's defense fail to cancel two or more attack dice? Might be better off keeping the higher damage instead of just dealing the damage.
