Just for fun, I have been trying to see if I can fit a Tractor Beam into a Rebel Squad. I don't anticipate this being competitive at all, just wanting to have some fun with a cannon that only costs 1 point.
First, of the two Rebel ships that can take a cannon, the YT-2400 seems like a complete waste, so it will need to go on a B-Wing.
The second debate is whether to put the Tractor Beam on a high PS unit, or low PS unit. If I am reading the Tractor Beam card correct, the Tractor Beam token is removed during the end phase of the round that it is assigned. So, that means that if you want to take advantage of the lowered agility, either the tractor beam needs to be placed on a high PS unit, or all firing ships need to be low PS as well. The one exception would be Corran Horn, who has high PS and could use it for his 2nd shot, but I'll get to that.
So first list, all low PS (PS2):
Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Tractor Beam (1)
B-Wing E/2 (1)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire Control System (2)
Blue Squadron Novice (24)
AutoThrusters (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Blue Squadron Novice (24)
R2 Astromech (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Total - 100
Here we can have intelligence agent (hopefully) look at the target's dial. Then the B-wing with Tractor Beam can shoot first, since all are PS2. The other B and T-70s deal the damage to a target with one less agility.
Aces would probably kill this list pretty quick, so here is a high-PS variant:
Ibitsam (28)
Advanced Sensors (3)
Tractor Beam (1)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Corran Horn (35)
R2D2 (4)
Fire Control System (2)
Juke (2)
Green Squadron Pilot (19)
Auto Thrusters (2)
Proton Rockets (3)
Total - 100
Both Ibitsam and Corran are PS8, so Ibitsam can use advanced sensors to get in position for a shot, and then fire first. Corran can follow up afterwards, and hopefully the A-wing could use Prockets as well. Then Corran can fire a second shot with a target lock, and use Juke to gain an extra hit.
As I said, neither of these are probably competitive, just wanted to have some Tractor Beam fun.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
