I know Jarjar gives the Gungans a bad rap

By EpicBubbleSA, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

But would people be offended if there was a Gungan guerilla fighter as one of the rebel heroes?

I think the ears would end up being really strange on the model.

They would have crushing surge abilities versus droids.

Only if they-sa usin the booma! It would be neat to see a Gungan hero with one of the blaster deflecting shields, base weapon being an electrostaff with reach and stun.

I'm fine with never having Gungans show up in IA.

It would mean we're not getting a mode that isn't a Gungan, so "me so no want".

The prequels give a bad rap to the SW universe, but I think I could find a few to be interested in.

Not really into Gungans, though.

Do I want one?

Not Really...

Could an interesting take on a Gungan make me change my mind?

Definitely.

Jar jar is annoying as all get out, but I actually really like the Gungans as a species. They are a great example of a technological race that followed a different technological path than the human standard. Just give them a less annoying dialect and they'd be great.

I have little interest but if it works, sure.

I'm not sure that the campaign structure would allow a hero based on guerrilla warfare to be useful though.

The old Minis game also had a Gungan bounty hunter, who was kinda bad ass looking:

No objections here, I think it could be pretty cool.

There's stray Gungans in the backgrounds of the new Star Wars comics that look cool enough. If FFG could distance them from the goofy looking Gungans, that would work. The ultimate evil would be making a goofy Gungan and giving him a broken card that everyone has to have.

I believe I have found the perfect substitute figure for my Hired Guns. :D

Mesa passin' on dis idea, no thanks!

We don't know what happened to the Gungans. Naboo is Palpatine's home planet. They may have been purged for setting back Palpatine's power play and forcing him to push it back 10 years. As soon as he became Emperor, messa a thinking Stormtroopers be visitin' Ota Gunga.

Huh? I would say the events in phantom menace radically accelerated palpatine's schemes. It looks like he was simply looking to have Naboo conquered without that being officially acknowledged by the senate. He could then stay a senator with absolutely no oversight from his home planet. Instead, amidala makes it to coruscant and he cons her into getting rid of valorum, something he was probably years away from doing otherwise.

I'm pretty sure they hit up Naboo in Lost Stars, but I don't recall if there's any mention of Gungans.

I don't think they'd have been exterminated, but I could see them being put into labor camps or something like that.

I would love some Gungans, especially for the SCUM so I can always say this when I lose.

I'd just really like the game to eventually delve into the Prequels era so I could have playable Jar Jar Binks... period. :)

I am still hoping for a full 3 big / 3 small series of boxed sets with the clone wars as a theme.

I don't just want Gungans, I want it all. Especially Grievous.

I'd be up for a Clone Wars campaign too.

So easy to create a story of an elite Clone Unit, and the show made it really interesting to see how different the clones actually were...

I'd be up for a prequel itineration of the game, once the OT is done.

Same here. No reason species from the prequels can't appear before that though.

I'd like to see species from the Old Republic too.
