A few questions about everyone's favorite Trandoshan.

By JJFDVORAK, in X-Wing Rules Questions

First off, I know I'm very behind the times, but I just used Bossk and the YV666 for the first time today. I loved it because it was awesome and I love Bossk in general. While I had fun playing with him, I feel that we may have been playing him wrong.

Question 1: Where is the secondary arc located? The ship base shows a normal 90 degree arc and then a shaded area on the front half of the base only, indicating a 180 degree forward arc only. But, in the booklet that came with the YV666, it shows a normal 90 degree front arc and a 180 degree rear arc. Which is correct?

Question 2: Can Bossk make 1 crit into 2 hits, or can he make any number of crits into double the hits? For example, if Bossk rolls a crit, crit, blank, can he use his ability to make it hit, hit, hit, hit, blank? To me the card could be read either way. Also what is the sequence of when all this would happen?

Bossk crew? Add Gunner for more awesome.

I think you're misinterpreting the image, it's highlighting only the auxiliary firing arc, it is indeed forward facing.

You can only trigger it once per attack. It happens after you've determined that the attack hits (Compare Results step), but before you deal the damage cards (Deal Damage step).

The YV-666 has two auxiliary firing arcs. One to each side of the Primary firing arc.

Knowing when you can apply Bossk's ability is important. You only apply it after the cancellations in the compare results. Rolling [kaboom] doesn't make the attack any more likely to actually hit but if it does go through it can then be turned into two [booms] to take out more shield or just put more cards on the ship or possibly take off that last shield so a card actually lands.

Thanks for the info.
