Suggestions for a new pc

By bsmith23, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The crew encountered an nice today that I want to change into a pc for a new player. He is the bar keep at an outer rim saloon, an old ithorian. The twist is he's an assassin who does his job with poisons. He poisoned a bounty hunter as the pcs were meeting him. Later, he threw a mug of acid concoction at a stormtroopers who had come to arrest him. The pcs helped him put and made a friend.

So does anyone have any specs to recommend for him so I can build him? Thinking about 150-200 extra xp to work with...

Sounds like maybe some Medical knowledge there.

I like the idea of a Poisoner/Medic type, combining Anatomy Lessons with poison concoctions and a dart gun could be interesting.

I'll think about a build tonight.

Thanks Balazar for immediately bringing up what I was thinking: Doctor/Infiltrator (maybe /Big Game Hunter?). Medicine to suggest the poisons and biochemical knowledge, with some melee assassin-y Talents in there, too.

(This sounds exactly like a character out of the Pathfinder campaign I'm running, too. I love the retired assassin/"too old for this" trope.)

Colonist Scholar is probably the best single spec option. Using Well rounded to get Medicine and Skulduggery (Or a combat skill if required) adding to all the social and knowledge skills already in hand. you could dig deep into the one tree then and pick up some of the more powerful talents, as well as some skill ranks.

Spy Scout is a great Poisoner with Medicine, Survival and Deception, but Scientist is probably even better. Medic has Xenology and lots of combat skills as well, but lacks the social side of Scout.

Personally i would go with Scientist/Agitator (Or Medic/Agitator if your want a combat focus too) for a Military background. For a more on the edge Academic character (Breaking Bad-ish) i would go Scholar, and if you want to replicate the business side of things add Entrepreneur as a second spec.

Going to need a good Cunning and Intellect with this build, and a Presence to match would be nifty too.
