custom dials

By xilton, in X-Wing

Hi guys,

hope I can post this. Like a few out there, I'm doing a few custom ships ect. and I'm having trouble finding a good center "swivel" for the dials. I use rough.y the same thickness cardboard for them as the real ones.

Any ideas? Maybe I'm just not searching the correct terms. I've tried snap clips, rivets ect...

cheers

its one of those kind of items that an old man at a small harware store could tell you.

I would bring a regular dial in...a plastic `hub` thing and your cardboard homebrew ones in to a small local hardware store and show them what its supposed to do and what you have so far and they will totally hook you up

You could buy some dial upgrades. $10 for 3 is a little steep, but it would probably work.

You want these . They are called Sex bolt (yeah, I know, I didn't name 'em), Chicago screws, post and screw, or you can look under bookbinding nuts. Check the length you need when fully screwed tight remembering to leaving your self a little bit of wiggle room so you can still turn the dial.
